This gourd cricket cage is a late 19th or early 20th century product. It is 4 ½” long and 2” wide from the top. The rim and lid were made of ivory and carved hard wood. A gourd is grown inside a carved wooden form(s) to create a patterned or shaped body. This cage does not have pattern or design but has a very nice balanced, shaped and light brown body. This massive mid or late 19th century white jade (nephrite) carved Ru-Yi scepter is 18 ½” long, 5 ½” wide (from the widest part) and 3” high (from the highest part). The whole scepter was carved from a single piece of nephrite. The carving depicts mythical figures, animals and buildings surrounded by clouds.
