A Chinese coral figure of a standing maiden in an elaborate and floating robe holding a basket of flowers. Rendered with great competence and detail, it is a very attractive composition. The coral is of pinkish hue with occasional white spots. age; C. 1910. size: 17.5 cm high including the fixed wood stand. condition; very good, no restoration, no breaks. there are natural tubules to the back.

Very precise and decorative carving and painting of a deity seated on a tiger-cat, inside a high throne with dragon, all in black, red, gold and laquer, Qing dynasty, late 19th.-early 20th. century.

Size: c31-30,5 cm. tall and 19,5 cm. wide.

Condition: Near Extremely fine, some fine wear to laquer and gilt, very sound and heavy wood, chip to his beard on left side othervise completely intact!

Probably Tibet. Miniature Buddha in cast bronze gilded with the mercury technique. Under the base curiously we can see a Vajra cast in relief. The sculpture is simple rustic, the details are little or not chiseled, however the gilding is of the best quality, very thick and tends to flake.Traces of pigment on hairs and eyes. The style of the base with elephant and Buddhist Lions in front and crosses at the back, makes me think of the 15th century style. No restaurations...

Head of Buddha, eyes half closed, its face reflecting a profound inner serenity. Wood, with remnants of the original lacquering and gilding. China, 18th century. Height: 10 1/2" (26,7 cm). The head is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Age cracks, otherwise good condition.

We offer from our private exhibition a Tibeto-Chinese large and heavy gilt bronze four faced Amitayus Buddha from the late Qing Dynasty ( 1644 - 1912 ).

The Amitayus ( Bodhisattva of Longevity ) is seated on double-lotus throne in dhyanasana and with both hands in dhyanamudra.

The statue is 17,1 inches high and 7,5kg heavy!

It is marked and in great condition.

In abstract form, a pair of stone tiger weights of Han dynasty was preserved in original excavation condition.
Covered all over the surface with adhering earth coatings, the images of recumbent tigers were still revealed by the silhouettes.
Han-Bar-Dao, a typical carving skill of Han Dynasty was used on two of the pieces.
In simple and clear carving skill, the images of two tigers were vaguely and subtly rendered...

She is showing the Abhaya Mudra.

The statue is more the ten (10!!) kg heavy, made from solid bronze. It has been exhibited in our family collection since 1950.

A wood image depicting a Daoist Exorcist riding a horse, holding the Seal for the control of evil forces on his right hand and the bowl with purifying water on his left hand. He wears the typical long Tao robe and crown shape hat. On the back of statue, there is a covered niche for the storage of prayer rolls. Wood with colours with very good details. A very well carved and inscribed wooden tablet made for use in the family house, on the ancestor´s altar for worshipping of the deceased husband . This â€spirit tablet†has the name of the man, Chun Fa from Lin Prefecture , and the name of the donor, the respectful wife Niang, born Song. In the inside it says that Chun Fa was born in the cyclical year of XianFeng, eleventh month, ninth day =1850, lived forty two years and died in the cyclical year of Guangxu 1891...
