Carved bamboo statuette representing Shou Lao, Chinese god of longevity. The god is represented standing, holding a peach in one hand and a stick ending in a mushroom Ling-zhi in the other, all the attributes of long life. The carving is precise, as can be judged by the regular parallelism of the hairs of the beard. The sculpture is elegant, the movements of the dress are harmonious and the finishes are of good quality. The bamboo has a nice old patina...

Very old Nuo mask of Heshang, the Buddhist Monk, serene and smiling ; usually has a red circle of holyness on the forehead (we can see trace of it) and very long ears.
Very rare "bianlian" (changing face), eyes and mouth moveable, they can be animated from the inside by the wearer;

Antique 19th century Chinese Qing dynasty Smoking Pipe including bamboo stem extended to the bulbous bowl, enclosed with finely shaped low grade silver alloy panels with copper inlaid chamber and fitted with nicely formed pewter mouthpiece.

Fine and unusual Chinese coconut teapot; carved decoration showing shou characters, auspicious objects and clouds; fully zinc lined and in very good condition; circa 19th century

The quality of the carving is extraordinary. This bamboo brush pot comes from an old German collection, there still is an old inventory number to the base of the piece. There is a Chinese inscription to the piece which can be translated as follows : "the boat is ready to go to heaven, the prince will go seek help from god". Qing Dynasty, nineteenth century or earlier. H : 14,4 cm. Diameter : 10,9 cm. Condition : Perfect with a nice patina.

He is shown sporting a potbelly, grinning as he holds his robe open with one hand and tugs on his belt tie with the other. His back features a small compartment for the placement of prayers. Very rare huangyangmu (rosewood) pipe ornament of an acrobat riding a guardian lion ; also the only one with such a character I ever saw.

Carved wooden cup representing large lotus leaves and buds on which evolve a crab and a shrimp. The feet are made up of snails. Although the carving work is of excellent quality, the wood used is not purple sandalwood. Part of the edge has been broken as shown in the photo, but this does not affect the aesthetics of the object. In addition, restoration work is possible with a perfect result. Antique wooden carving of a Chinese Lohan, which in the Buddhist religion is a state of enlightenment right before becoming a Bodhisattva. Bottom is sectioned into three parts and well configured, white metal (paktong?) insert with contrasting copper rim, makes this global beauty the rare Chinese treasure...

Bamboo pot carved with several characters from Chinese mythology evolving in a raised garden. One can easily recognize Shoulao, god of longevity, accompanied by his deer and holding the peach of immortality in his right hand and his stick in the left. The deer holds in its mouth a Lingzhi mushroom of immortality. The work is important, the sculptures do not have the perfect but cutesy aesthetic of the 18th century and would suggest that this pot is a late popular clumsy creation...
