A beautifully carved and gilt boxwood figure of Guan Yin / Guanyin. The goddess is holding the holy Buddhist scripture and has placed her hand between the open pages. China, Republic period, c 1920. 19th Century Chinese Zitan Wood Carved Miniature 8 Immortal God with Stand 紫檀

The figures range from 35.35 mm to 38.36 mm tall. The stand is 0.67 inch (1.7 cm) tall by 0.78 inch (2 cm) wide and 6.3 inches (16 cm) in length. Total weight is 45.5 gram.

A finely carved Chinese boxwood statue of the Tang poet Li Bai. Dressed in official attire with a scroll in his right hand, Li Bai appears to be deep in thought as he strokes his beard.
