Seifu Yohei III (1850, Kiei 3rd, thru 1914, Taisho 3rd).
He was born in name of Okada family, when he was young man he wanted to become as the painter so he became the student of Tanomura Chokunyu in Osaka and studied Japanese painting and Nanga painting but he gave up as the painter because of his illness...

Japanese Satsuma vase with various scenes from different periods in Japanese history and one view with Chinese scholars or sages. The views are framed with a motif of flowers and fans. Bottom of the vase contains a name that is impressed in the clay. The top part of name is unreadable, the bottom contains the name Satsuma ware. Age: Taisho Period. Size: Diameter: 2.75"

Old Japanese Sumida Gawa Ware Jardiniere on Pedestal with Sage & Children Marked Ishiguro Koko 石黒香々

It is 30.2 inches (76.7 cm) tall by 14 inches (35.6 cm) wide.

It has minor rubbing of paint, skip glazes, glaze crazing, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

Pink and blue iris blossom among the green promise of Spring promised on this elegant vase by Miyagawa (Makuzu) Kozan enclosed in a wooden box annotated by the current head of the Makuzu Family in Kyoto, Makuzu Kosai. Large Lidded Imari Bowl and cover decorated in underglazed blue with a scrolling design of leafy camellia, Meiji period. Dimensions: 9 3/4" X 5 1/2".

A large dish used for raw fish or shellfish (mukozuke) for the tea ceremony in which guests are served. It measures at 11.75” square x 2” high. This dish is designed in the traditional Japanese ascetic of simple brush strokes and relaxed design; such a dish was not intended for export and does not conform to the Western ascetic of gaudy and over crowded design. A true testament of genuine Japanese tradition. The plate dates to the late Meiji to early Tashio period (1900-20).

Late Meiji / early Taisho miniature Japanese porcelain vase depicting a family of 3 egrets in different attitudes. Perfect potting, elegant shape, beautiful underglaze powder green ground, eyes and beaks of of the birds are done in underglaze blue, in perfect condition. Signed in underglaze blue SENPO SENO SEI (Made in Senpo’s pottery) on the bottom. Height 3 3/8 inches.

A small covered Japanese Imari jar, decorated with flowers, trees, leafs and butterflies. The jar measures, with lid, about 8 1/2" high x 4 1/2" in diameter, and dates to the turn of the Century. The condition is excellent with some wear from use. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.

Marked “Hichozan” and “made by Maru(circle mark) hei”. Hichozan was a large organization located in Kyushu, the southern island of Japan. The organization did not make any porcelain itself but had large workshops decorating blanks from other factories. Most of the blanks were made at Mikawachi where the Hirado kilns were located. They also ordered underglaze decorated wares that they could supply to their clients...

Antique Chinese large porcelain vase. Decorated all over with a basket texture and a pair of dragons with a flaming pearl and cloud-like mist. The body of the vase is glazed a celadon green while the dragons remain a very pale bluish white. The dragons represent the endless cycle of transformation and the flaming wish-granting pearl is one of the Eight Treasures and represents pure intention.

This Japanese Meiji period 6 sided porcelain chocolate pot was made for export to the Western markets. The chocolate pot has a lovely traditional Japanese scene which was hand painted, with bits of moriage detail. Excellent condition, no chips, no cracks, pot is 9.5 inches tall. There are 3 matching cups and saucers will be listed separately.

Dated by McKinley Tariff Act requiring name of country of origin to be permanently engraved (stamped) or imprinted into a piece.

Charming Antique Japanese complete original set of 20 blue and white porcelain bowl. Swirling geometric designs decorate the inner edges with a center image of pine trees. A Japanese white glazed studio porcelain model of a water buffalo. Hirado type though the eyes are not left unglazed to the biscuit as is typical. Holding sculpted form and details well, the biscuit base smooth to the touch and bearing an imprint from the fabric it sat upon. Except for a clean break to one horn, in otherwise good condiiton. A line of separation of the glaze under the buffalo's neck due to "crawling" in the kiln. Length, about 14 inches horn tip to tail...
