A large, heavy, Korean brass candle holder, consisting of six parts: (1)a base pan on which screws the (2)candle stick, (3)a small pan to contain the wax, (4)a bracket to hold the light reflector, (5)a fan shaped light reflector which is secured by bat shaped brackets on both sides, and (6)a candle snuffer. This candle stick dates to the turn of the Century, Yi Dynasty, and measures overall 32 3/4" high. The base pan measures 10 3/4" in Diameter x 2 1/2" high. The condition is excellent.

Antique Korean single-section kitchen storage cabinet. The top portion has 4 lattice panels. The two on the outside are stationery while the two in the center slide to open a large compartment. The lower portion of the chest has a pair of hinged doors which open to another compartment. On the bottom right is a small drawer over a box opened with a hinged door.

A Very Fine Incised Lotus Petal Sea Green Celadon Glazed Oil Bootle-12th C.: Korea, Koryo priod, 12th Century Thr squat global body, on raised ring foot, with narrow neck and cup-shaped mouth, incised lotus petal design, beneath a rich clear suffused green celadon glaze, it’s in fine condition but two chips and repairs in real gold, it measures 6.7cm d. x 4.5cm h.

During the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1897), ceramics were considered to represent the highest quality of achievement from royal, city, and provincial kilns, the last of which were export-driven wares. Joseon enjoyed a long period of growth and production, which is still preserved today.

Wares evolved along Chinese lines in terms of color, shape, and technique. Celadon, white porcelain, and storage pottery were similar, but with certain variation in glazes, incision designs, and weight...

The finely potted baluster form with bulbous shouler and tapering waist and raised mouth rim, decorated with an overall warm and slilght blue tinged white glaze applied, some areas slightly discolored in firing.
