A very rare gilt bronze Buddha, Southern Thailand Sri Vijaya/Javanese inspired local style, ca. 11th.-13th. century AD.

The Buddha stands erect with his right hand raised in abhaya mudra and his left gracefully extended alongside his body

Wonderful archaic Southern SE Asian style of his face with the pronounced brows, a flat nose and thick lips. His eyes are thick and downcast and he wears a slight smile. He is standing on a square pedestal.

An extremely rare 22K. solid Gold STANDING MINIATURE GARUDA figure with very fine details. This Garuda was found during excavations of the foundations of an ancient Khmer temple. Excellent condition. Size: 2.3 cm. Weight: 10 gr. This Garuda has folded hands in adoration form and the wings are short and not spread out as it is not in flight. The tail feathers are very long. A unique collector's item!

A rare LAOTIAN BRONZE BUDDHA IN DEEP MEDITATION (MARA VIJAYA). Difficult to find genuine Bronze Buddhas from Laos as most were made of wood because of the high cost and especially in this pose/position. Very good condition overall, late 18th Century. Antique pair of Thai male attendants (Nats), finely rendered out of teak wood, with polychrome traces of pigments. These funerary effigies would be kept close to an ancestral altar in order to help lead their spirits into the afterlife. Highly realistic detailing and form, this pair of statues are raised on pedestals for sturdy display.

Bronze statue of Buddha, in monk's robes, wearing a kind of diadem, sitting on a throne, his hands in bhumisparsa mudra. Old glass inserts on the diadem, some missing. Burma, Mandalay period, 19th century. Height: 10 cm. Some abrasion, otherwise very good condition.

Smooth and serene Marble Shakyamuni Buddha subduing Mara. Robe and base are brown with some fine details and gilding. The head of the Buddha is covered with a multitude of small pointed hairlocks called "Shwebo-thorns" on top of which is the stupa shaped flame. The Buddha is clad in a nice robe showing overlapping folds and decorated bands, which also cover the right shoulder and left arm. This is a unique piece of art showing unusual details, refined carving skill and craftsmanship...

Splendid Lanna Thai Wooden Buddha with original gilding seated on an elaborately decorated throne. Very serene/calm expression. The Buddha is seated in the Vajrasana position with the right hand in the gesture of touching the Earth (bhumisparsa mudra) and the left hand rests in the gesture of meditation (dhyana mudra). Fine and rare example of Northern Thai Buddhist art which displays an elegant smartness and is well proportioned. Excellent condition and beautiful patina, no restorations...
