A very rare gilt bronze Buddha, Southern Thailand Sri Vijaya/Javanese inspired local style, ca. 11th.-13th. century AD.

The Buddha stands erect with his right hand raised in abhaya mudra and his left gracefully extended alongside his body

Wonderful archaic Southern SE Asian style of his face with the pronounced brows, a flat nose and thick lips. His eyes are thick and downcast and he wears a slight smile. He is standing on a square pedestal.

An extremely rare 22K. solid Gold STANDING MINIATURE GARUDA figure with very fine details. This Garuda was found during excavations of the foundations of an ancient Khmer temple. Excellent condition. Size: 2.3 cm. Weight: 10 gr. This Garuda has folded hands in adoration form and the wings are short and not spread out as it is not in flight. The tail feathers are very long. The Buddha stands erect with his right hand raised in abhaya mudra and his left gracefully extended alongside his body. He is standing on a tall and very elaborate bronze lotus throne, perhaps slightly later from the 18th. century. It fits it perfectly.

Spendid sculptural bronze rendition of Buddha with a serene expression and fine facial details.

The head of the Buddha is covered with a multitude of small pointed hairlocks called "Shwebo-thorns" on top of which is the stupa shaped flame.
