I acquired this in Yunnan, China along the Burmese border but of Shan (nationality in China). Early 19th C bronze Southeast Asian betel nut cutter in the anthropomorphic form of Garuda, a bird-like creature in Hindu, Buddhist and Jain mythology. Garuda is believed to be a powerful ever watchful protector with the ability to swiftly go anywhere. The blade is slightly bent from years of use, otherwise in very good condition, this cutter measures 6" long, 5" high, and 1.75 inches across the wings.

Very nice late 18th Century Benjarong Porcelain Bowl, especially made in China for the Siamese Court and Nobility. The inside is emerald green with flower decor and a center medallion, whereas the outside depicts 4 alternative Norasingh and Kinaree medallions and a Famille Noire background.
