This is a very nice pottery vessel from the Ban Chiang culture in ancient Thailand, Udon Province (circa 200 BC). It has very intricate, geometric designs typical of Ban Chiang pieces. The designs are both incised into the clay and then painted. Incised and painted, pedestaled pottery is one of the rarest types. A massive solid silver or heavy silver plate bronze mirror, Cambodia, Khmer Empire, ca. 12th. century AD:
Very large and with a beautiful silver patina. It features a perfect circular form and a recessed side with concentric incised circles tracing the border. Objects like this one were signs of prestige, owned by the wealthy and elite in Khmer society.

A elegant lacquerware for monastery use. Made in Kyaukka, in the lower Chindwin District in Burma, made from woven matting and coiled bamboo and lacquered in black and red. This piece has seven sections. These original Kyaukka pieces are difficult to come by.

The rare Gold Buddha is know as Bhumisparsa, the mudra of witness (earth touching). The hand with the palm turned inward and all the fingers extended downward touching the singhasana (pedestal supported by a lion)
The gesture of touching the earth or calling the earth to witness commemorating Buddha's victory over temptation by the demon Mara.
