Antique Native American folk art female doll. Size: 10.5 inches ht. A Northern Plains Indian antique doll fashioned from brain tanned buffalo hide with buffalo hair stuffing, a tack decorated leather belt and human hair. It has fully beaded moccasins and beaded fringed garments. Sinew sewn and with colored glass beads. Excellent condition (some thinning to hair). Display stand included. Also available as a separate offering is a male companion doll.

Description:

A soapstone Lohan was in sitting posture.
Holding in the left hand with a rosary, the fairy saint hold a Ruyi in his right hand.
Smiling and in amiable mood, the stone figure was well depicted and was in warm yellowish tint due to enduring old age.

Date: Qing Dynasty, 18th/19th Century.

Height:7.3cm, Width:7.3cm, Depth: 5.8cm. Weight: 270gram.

Condition: very good except one defect at the mouth of the bag...

Both sides of on this antique printing woodblock are hand carved with 3 pages of text on each side. The text is a poem about the moon. With the upper sections of each page in Chinese characters and the lower text in Mongolian, this is a rare and interesting artifact of the Qing Dynasty reign.

The woodblock is covered in ink from repeated use but the text is still crisp and clear. Measures 9 inches x 14 inches.

This wonderfully detailed Antique pendant is from Tibet. It has silver dragons surrounding a large veined turquoise stone with a smaller coral stone. Additional small bits of turquoise form the background for the dragons tail. The entire scene is backed and bordered with scalloped bronze. Provenance: Collection of Hendrik Jan Karsten (1817-1908), a Dutch politician. There is a name label at the back of the netsuke. Very striking piece, comes with a museum quality stand.

Depicted in a farmer with horse in water plowing in prepartion to plant rice. A willow or other weeping tree, to one side, not yet with blooms. A necklace of 26 large Tibetan turquoise beads ranging in color from delicate greenish-blue hues to a vibrant turquoise blue separated by silver rings. Each bead has its own attractive matrix and nice patina from years of wearing. The necklace was bought together with the two glass dZi beads and two red coral beads in Lhasa, Tibet. It was restrung again recently to give it strength.
