These two snuff bottles are Peking glass, created to look like gemstone, one jade, one agate. Both measure 2 3/4" high and have stoppers, but no spoon attached. (The darker stopper may be stone, as it has considerable inclusions and is heavy). Both are well done, and give the appearance of stone. The "jade" bottle has a very soft sheen, similar to what actual jade would look like, and has a small foot. Both in good condition, the jade one with a slight chip on the lip...

Thai Sawankhalok round form covered stoneware footed box in the shape of a mangosteen fruit decorated in iron-black/brown glaze on a buff-colored ground with alternating panels of geometric designs and flowers. Knob finial. 14th to 16th century. 5” diameter x 4 3/8” high. Very good overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The lid matches well and appears to be original. From the Arizona collection of German expatriates to Indonesia in the 1970s.

A Chinese jade carving shaped as a lotus pod and incised and carved with prunus flowers, the endless knot and a bird in flight. The stone is of celadon hue mottled with russet. This is an elegant and superbly carved composition depicting auspicious objects . Age: 17/18 C. condition: excellent, no breaks no restoration. Delicate fish scale patterns in gold on bronze lacquer highlight old chips on the rim of this large Yamachawan Tea bowl dating from the Kamakura to early Muromachi periods (12th -15th centuries). Blue glaze twinkles on the heavily eroded surface, where Shizen-yu ash pooled and crystallized. There is a large slash in the glaze where another bowl had been stacked inside, and there are much losses to the surface glazing typical of excavated works...

Chinese Ming dynasty porcelain dish decorated in underglaze blue on a white ground with a hou in a central roundel surrounded by a band of peony flowers and scrolling foliage. One of the nine sons of the dragon, the hou has the appearance of a lion and is depicted roaring at the sky. A similar peony band with scrolling foliage encircles the rim on the reverse side. A very good sized sculpture of Pedanda, a Brahman priest of the highest caste. This is a traditional sculpture, not a piece for tourists. It's made of hard wood, very intricately carved and has a subtle polychrome. H. 51 cm. Condition: expected age wear and a few age cracks. Please refer to the detailed pictures. A similar figure is in the collection of the 'Tropenmuseum' in Amsterdam. Provenance: Belgian private collection.

A very unusual incense burner in the form of two servants holding up Hotei as he looks joyously toward the night sky. It is performed in crackled white glaze over pale clay with simple iron decoration. It comes enclosed in the original signed wooden box bearing the Teishitsu Gigei-in seal titled Ga-korai Hotei Koro indicating it was based on Korean decoration techniques.
