A shallow dish, heavily potted, covered in a beautiful celadon glaze producing the crackles of the Geyao type glaze. The recessed base is glazed while the foot rim is dressed with an iron brown wash. Large limited edition Japanese lithograph with red sumi-e brush strokes by Toko Shinoda (b. 1913) titled "Fleeting Dream." The blue and white bucket form porcelain vase in Hirado style but probably from an Arita kiln. This garden bucket is a less commonly encountered form (in porcelain) with a single handle. Decorated in Hirado fashion with plover over an active sea. Borders around the girth and the foot in relief and depicting woven bamboo securing the barrel form. A slight celadon tinge collects in glaze pooling particularly around the woven bamboo motif borders...

This Chinese pipe is from the Miao Ethnic Minority group in the vicinity of Rong Jiang. My Miao friends insist that this pipe would have been used for smoking tobacco and not opium. Made from silver alloy, the stem design has the two dragons chasing the center pearl.

The pipe is in very good condition and is 19" long and it comes with its own custom made stand.

This unusual prayer wheel has both the wooden and horn parts which are intricately carved with Tibetan Buddhist symbols. The wheel comes with it on metal stand.

A very rare Jianyang temmoko bowl was in unique firing effects.

Chinese Song Dynasty Incised Celadon Porcelain Bowl

This porcelain bowl was made in the 12th - 13th Century during the latter part of the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279). It is fairly "heavily-potted" and coated in a transparent pale celadon glaze, save for the foot that remains unglazed. The inner surface is decorated with incised floral patterns. It is most likely a product of the Anqi kilns in Fujian Province.

Description: An archaic nephrite jade pendant or Huang was in greenish tint with white patches. By incursions of calcified white dots on the surface, the ancient jade piece was verified as a newly excavated piece. In a decent look and quite good size, this rare piece was carved meticulously on two sides with characteristic grain patterns. From the jade quality, the sleek manual carving lines, and the obvious incursions, we could authenticate the piece was from the dated Han Dynasty for sure...

Tang Dynasty (AD 618–907) Chinese poly chrome pottery figure of a female musician with old hongmu rosewood stand. 6" L x 4.5" W x 6" H. In antique condition.

Description: A lovely blue and white plant pot was in unique hexagon shape. Painted with typical Chinese rural scenery, this small plant pot was kept in very good condition only with one almost invisible faint hairline on the rim. Date: Qing Dynasty, Late 19th Century. Width:10.9cm Height:4.5cm

Bronze incense burner in form of Foo Lion or Dog, with removable head. Measures 6 1/4" high, 4" wide, and 2 3/4" wide. An early bronze, dates to early Qing and possibly late Ming. Dark patina, with much oxidation and variation in color to surface...

A pottery whistle in the form of an unusual face with its lips puckered as if whistling. The top of the whistle has green and brown glazes (sansai glaze) - the bottom is unglazed. The glaze has a very fine crackle. Under magnification, tiny pits can be seen on the fine crackle, which is consistent with the appearance of glazes for pieces of this period.

This is a finely potted and enamelled “Over-The-Wall” famille rose Ogee Bowl. It shows three stem of bamboo tree drawn from the exterior of the bowl and then continues into the interior of the bowl with persimmons hanging on to the bamboo plant with the twig crossing over the rim into the interior of the bowl. A little distance away, there is a small butterfly flying towards the persimmons on the outside of the bowl...

This rare pair of antique Japanese Samurai stirrups date to the mid Edo Period. The are inlaid with bits of abalone shell. The cut-out below the buckle appears to be the a representation of the trifold Asarum leaves, which was the mon of the Tokugawa shoguns.

There is some loss of abalone shell and there is a crack in one of the foot pads. But they are a gorgeous example even with these condition issues.

A dramatic pair of large trays　decorated with silver characters for sun and moon on dynamic black and red surfaces. Each comes in the original wooden box made by craftsmen at the Yabashi Studio in Gifu prefecture. They are 47 cm square and in fine condition.

An old Xer inkstone was intriguingly made in a shape of the ancient Chinese musical instrument-GuQin.
Nicely fitted in the original Suanzi wood box, the inkstone was preserved in a perfect condition except some old abrasions on the surface.
And the well carved inscription: Xi-Ann-Ju-Xi(Xi Ann the Recluse)was on the underside of the inksotne.

A cricket cage made of a long bodied gourd with ivory mounts to accommodate the ivory and tortoise shell lid. The surface of the gourd has a leathery look from age. The tortoise shell piece has intricate pierced carvings of the "Eight Taoist Symbols" amidst curling tendril patterns. Period: Ching (19th Century)

A Zitan covered box was in quite good condition.
Preserving with the charming purplish black patina, the box was revealed with the characteristic Ox-furs wood grains on the surface .
By a good size, the rectangular box was carved, tenoned and shaped into a typical scholar box.
A similar box was in the book of “The collection of Chinese box”, the collection from a famed connoisseur and antique dealer,Ma Wei Du.

Rare Chinese Northern Wei Dynasty Painted Pottery Winnowing Figure

This very rare pottery figure was made during the Northern Wei Dynasty (AD 386 - 534). It is made from a buff-coloured pottery that has been "cold painted" in a creamy-white pigment. The kneeling figure is in the act of winnowing. Note the detail of the figure's face and the way in which the long sleeves from his robe are tied behind his back.
