A large 17th to 18th century Buddhist sculpture of a Rakan (arahat), well sculpted, his naked torso gilded in gold with robes and shoes in black lacquer, carrying a large urn which is an active incense burner. The sculpture is 2 feet (61 cm) tall and in overall fine condition. There are minor losses to the lacquer and gilding typical of age, and a repair to his left foot. Both little fingers are missing from his hands; these could be repaired if desired at additional cost.

A bronze Tanuki dressed in robes and holding a Nyoi (priest scepter) sits yelping into the air, as if surprised at being discovered for his true nature. Glazed all over in iron rust with the exception of the base ring which has been left unglazed.

This brush washer is unmarked and age has been approximated at 18th century.

In very good condition with normal wear use present on the inside. One small glaze kiln flaw on the base but this does not detract from it.

Condition: In generally very good condition. No major breaks or chips. There are some very minor surface imperfections due to the use of the item, but nothing that detracts from it's beauty.

A famille rose yellow ground minyao bowl with underglaze blue Daoguang sealmark and of the period. Decorated to the exterior in vibrant enamels with four exotic blossoms, including lotus, peony, hibiscus and orchid among scrolling foliage, all on a bright lemon yellow ground. Each vase with slightly flared mouths over extensive landscapes very well painted that depict a mountainside with figures, trees, pavilions and a meandering river. The base contains a Jurentang mark in 4 characters written in over-glaze blue surrounded by double squares.

Originally this stick mand had wooden arms and silk clothing. These figures were only used for members of the imperial family and were forbidden for ordinary people. H. 58 cm. (60 cm. incl. stand). With TL-report from Ralf Kotalla.

The short flared rolled mouth over broad shoulders with the sides tapering to a rounded foot. The crackle consisting of golden thread and iron. The glaze is silky to the touch. The inside left unglazed as well as the base.

The base contains an older collection id number previous to my purchase.

There are no breaks. The vase has a few areas of glaze loss that occurred through the initial firing. Please see the pictures.

Chinese plaque done in Qianjiang style with a crane flying over with a tree in the scene. There is a poem written in black ink in the upper left corner with a seal in iron red below it. The plaque has an overall orange-peel effect on the surface.

The cover has a small loop with a center hole. The teapot has a "C" shaped handle with a gentle curving spout on the opposite side. The inside has been left unglazed with one square hole for the pouring spout.

The base is also unglazed and recessed. In the center is a 4 character mark of "Ge Mingxiang" surrounded by a square border.

A very unusual Katana held in a saya (scabbard) made to look like a gnarled branch cut into a poor man’s cane. When pulled a spring-loaded mechanism releases two iron flanges creating a very effective tsuba hand guard. The blade is unsigned, measuring Nishaku nissun nibu {26-1/2 inches (67.3 cm)}.
