Measuring 11 3/4" high and 4" across base, this Okimono of a Bijin holds a scroll, which has unfurled to her feet, where a cat plays with it. In rich colors and heavy enamel, the figure is both serene and elegant. Nice detail on the robes and clothing, with gilt details on her hair ornaments and along the edge of the scroll. This antique Chinese necklace has an ornately detailed large Kylin as the central medallion. The medallion is 3.5 inches across and there are are five decorative chains hanging from it. Each of these chains ends with a fruit. The low grade silver used for the necklace is typical of the Chinese silver used in old China. The Kylin is a Chinese mythical animal.

Description: An excavated blue and white cup was in elegant water basin shape. With obvious excavation condition, the cup crackled well. The minor everted rim let it can be easily held when drinking tea. Condition of this cup is good. One darker spot on the rim is not a defect. It was due to the incursion under the earth. Description: A Zitan lotus-bud water basin was well carved. By a fine quality, the wood piece was preserved with enduring purplish black patina on the surface. Abrasions and minor frits were found on the outer rims. Date: Qing Dynasty, 19th century. Width: 7.6cm, Height: 4.2cm.

Double gourd silk pouch with seed stitched calligraphy. China, c 1900. Height "6 ¼ / 15.5 cm. The inside with a paper label saying No 9 Peking China. Condition: to one side some residue from another label.

Description: A strand of rosaries was assembled by 108 pieces of old Zhi-Tan beads. Among them, old coral and elephant bone beads were decorated. Old beads were getting hard to find. All these beads were believed from Tibet, now were ingeniously strung as a decoration item. Date: Late 19th Century.

Description: A beautiful ivory sachet was carved in open work. With archaic patterns as the ground decoration, swirling dragons were carved vividly on both sides. The sachet can be used as a pendant when the cap was removable and a perfume dipped cotton can be easily put into it. Date: Early 20th Century.

This is an attractive early satsuma Koro or incense burner with very fine workmanship. I believe it may be pre-1900 because it appears to have been made with thicker mercury fired gold. Lid and bottom piece are both marked with a museum inventory number. The lid has been repaired and it looks quite good. The images show where it was broken. It stands about 4 1/2 inches tall and 4 1/2 inches wide. It is signed but I do not recognize the signature.

A rectangular silver box rich in high relief of dancers in costume. The detailing of the human forms and the patterning on their costumes is finely done. The background of the dancers is done in open-work silver of a pattern of swirling leaves and tendrils. At the bottom of the box is a large hand-hammered mythical Asian chimera (Makara). The box weighs 740 grams.

A set of Mandarin squares, comprising a front and a back, dating around 1900. Insignia for a court official's wife, with appliqued silver pheasant bird, denoting the fifth rank. Gold and silver metallic threads couched on violetta silk, lined with blue silk. Condition: traces of age, little faded, back badge with short tear (please see photo # 10), lining little stained. Dimension: 25.5 cm x 28.2 cm.

Nuan-Shou, Hand Exercisers were used for palm massage by practicing in one hand. Rolling it to make Qi running through the nerve endings.
The pairs were made from tiger bones.
Enduring old patina was yielded when bone tissues were obviously observed.

It is really fun when practicing them in your hand and hearing the tingling sound.

This Chinese winter court officials hat has an elaborate gold acorn finial, silk velvet brim, and red silk tassels. The black chin strap cord is tied with a double adjusting slip knot. The hat is in good condition.
