This Chinese ethnic minority hat was worn by child and is heavily laden with silver ornaments. The lower border of the top section of the hat has a band of stars. The traditional eight immortals with the god of longevity grace the front of the hat. And there are lots of bells and butterflies hanging from silver chains. The embroidery represents various animal characters...

This pair of handmade woman's shoes were made with cotton vamp and satin stitched embroidered flower motif. The exaggerated upturned front toe was used as a decorative element by several minority groups but from the detailing, I think that they are most likely Miao ethnic minority. They are small and narrow, and probably belonged to a young girl. The Miao, like most minorities, did not practice foot binding. The walking sole measures 6.5 inches long and 2" at the widest part.

A very finely decorated cloisonne enamel bowl depicting, on the outside, two confronting five clawed dragons, over waves, in pursuit of a flaming pearl and, on the inside, an impressive Imperial style dragon. Description: A small inkstone was carved in different cliff style. On the pool side, the cloud pattern was carved fluently. A small scholar item especially an inkstone was hard to find. It could be a practical utensil and also a small art piece which could be viewed from different angles around your palms. Date: 19th Century. Length:7.8cm Width:6cm Height: 4.5cm Condition: Kept with original Hon-Mu stand when lost of upper cover. A crack line was seen due to age.

Pair of Chinese Republic period porcelain vases densely decorated in famille rose enamels with a continuous central figural panel holding scholars playing wieqi (go) in a garden setting. The shoulder, neck, and base are covered in a dense pattern of lotus leaves and scrolling foliage. The high recessed base bears a square iron red apocryphal four-character Qianlong mark...

A beautifully Qing dynasty enamelled pink-ground "famille rose" bowl with seal mark and period of Hsien Feng (1851-1861) and of the period. Brightly painted with alternating upright lappets surrounded by meandering foliate and branching leaf on an incised with a wave like pink background. The interior of the bowl is evenly applied with light turquoise enamel.

There are no sign of cracks or chips...

A nicely carved natural amber pendant of the hand of Buddha citron with a hole at the top so it can be worn as a pendant. The citron fruit may be given as a religious offering in Buddhist temples. According to tradition, Buddha prefers the "fingers" of the fruit to be in a position where they resemble a closed rather than open hand, as closed hands symbolize to Buddha the act of prayer. Size: H. 3.7cm. W. 2cm. Condition: No repairs, chips or cracks.

Description: "Hundreds of monkeys" is only a description for the topic of this master piece. Amid the branches of a peach tree, a lot of monkeys are playing and teasing to each other. The exact numbers of these nimble animals had never been really counted. A deft open-work carving had been done in early 20th century China. Old black paint were faded due to age.
