Golden cranes soar among clouds etched into the surface of this solid silver Japanese hanging incense burner (Tsuri Koro) dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. Inside is an ash-cup suspended in a triple-hinged gimble which keeps the ash pot upright no matter the angle of the ball itself. Chinese carved lapis lazuli tripod censer featuring 2 side dragon heads holding loose set rings standing upon and additional three dragon carved paws. The lid of the censer features a sinuous chilong as a handle. The stonework a deep blue with veins of mottled grey.

Description: A Zitan wood carving of a sitting figure was well rendered.
Depicted as a long robed scholar official wearing a an official hat and leaned against a stool, the figure was vividly carved in the features and on the costumes.
In perfect condition, the wood piece was reflected on the surface with enduring old patina.

Description:
An elegant brush pot was made from the precious Huanghuali wood.
Being preserved with charming brownish patina on the surface, the brush pot was carved totally from a wood trunk, including to the bottom.,
The characteristic signs of ox-hair wood grains and ghost–eye marks were obvious.
By well proportioned shape, it was decorated on the rims and the supported feet with lineated ridges.

A very fine early 20th century screen hand-painted simply and exquisitely with the mixing branches of a blossoming cherry and both fresh green and red maple. The painstaking detail in each individual leaf and flower is breathtaking. The awesome scene is triple bordered inside a frame of green brocade, red and black silk and gold. We have had the screen re-backed with original style forest green paper and replaced the black wooden frame. It measures 31-1/2 by 66-1/2 inches (80 by 169 cm).

This very rare and attractively-shaped pottery jar was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279), or possibly the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368) and has been excavated from a Buddhist site in Yunnan province.
