Of octagonal shape, decorated with Japanese ladies and floral panels. Signed: made in Hirado by Kusae'. Considering the size these were probably chocolate cups made for the export. The cups are 11,5 cm tall and 10 cm in diameter. The saucers are 15 cm in diameter. The set is in pristine condition.

Tall Chinese Ming Dynasty Stoneware Roof Tile Figure

This impressive architectural ridge tile figure was made during the latter part of the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644), most likely in Shanxi province. It depicts an official figure or guardian / deity figure standing on top of swirling clouds. It is coated in thick green, turquoise, black and straw-coloured glazes.

Chinese Qing dynasty Shiwan stoneware bombe form tripod censer with two raised loop handles on the rim covered overall with an iridescent monochrome flambe brown glaze imitating bronze. The glaze drips over the rim into the unglazed interior. Custom wood stand. Late 19th to early 20th century. 8 3/4" diameter x 5 3/4" high (to top of handle). Very good overall condition. The censer sits at a slight angle indicating the placement of one tripod leg might be slightly off...

Pair late Qing dynasty porcelain bowls. Overglaze decoration in blue and green enamel of peonies. Also decorated with inscriptions in gilt enamel and chop marks in red enamel. The rims an intentional, attractive caramel colored burnt biscuit. Apocryphal Qianlong seal marks in blue under the glaze. One in good condition with only minor enamel loss and light rubbing inside the bowl. The other also with an old, small area of repair along the outside of the rim...

Description: An exquisite bamboo carving depicted a smiling boy holding a basket which has fishes in it. In fantastic carving skill, the piece was added with more attraction by it's aged patina. Measuring 16" in diameter and roughly 5" deep, this Abyssinian shield was intended for high ranking warriors, and is decorated with rust colored fabric over a heavy molded shield of animal hide. The hide is tough, strong and thick, and is usually that of water buffalo or giraffes, as they had the heaviest and strongest hides available. Chinese Tang Dynasty (618-906) Changsha ware pale yellow glazed ewer decorated with light brown-splashed glaze over relief molded leaf-form foliage designs on opposing sides beneath each of two loops. 9 1/4"H.
