A very well executed Ming stone weight depicting a strange youth guiding a mythical beast.The stone itself is unusual in that is very hard and veined with two colors. A very unique piece and a true work of art. It is my understanding that these weights were used for pressing paper. Size: Base. 28.3 x 28.3cm. H. 14.5cm. Condition: No repairs. Some minor old chips around the edges and the horn on the animal might have been filed a little long ago.

This elaborate silver Miao headband would be worn by a woman for festival. First a piece of fabric would be tied around the womans head to protect her from the sharp edges of the metal. The headband would make a soft pleasing sound as the woman moved her head. The man on horseback and flowers are a reference to the Miao myth of bringing light into the world. The headband is approx 20 inches long.

Description: A nephrite jade pendant was carved as a tiger’s head. By a grayish tint, the jade piece was revealed with blackish incursions along the stone tissues and accompanied with ice crackles. They were all resulted from long time of burial. In adequate size, the jade piece was an ideal accessory in the past and in nowadays as well. A large Japanese stoneware koro (incense burner), decorated with coloured enamels on a celadon glazed ground, depicting mythical beings. The cover is surmounted by a Shishi. This item was made circa 1880 - 1920 during either the Meiji or Taisho periods. Condition - two of the three legs have been restored...

Description: A brick oil-lamp was preserved finely. In cylindrical shape and with a hollowed-out cover, the oil lamp was in decent look when radiating out the ancient light. A Chinese character “Fu”-Good Fortune was intriguingly carved within the pattern of the hollowed cover. By an enduring old patina, the oil lamp was in perfect condition and can be used in a practical way. Date: 19th century. Height: 16.5cm, Width of the base: 16cm.

Description: A Zitan lotus-bud water basin was well carved. By a fine quality, the wood piece was preserved with enduring purplish black patina on the surface. Abrasions and minor frits were found on the outer rims. Date: Qing Dynasty, 19th century. Width: 7.6cm, Height: 4.2cm.

And on the rocky stands beside her, there's a purity vase on the right and a holy hawk sitting on the left.
Serene and peaceful in mood, her features were well depicted when the flowing robe and the beaded rosary was carved in a fine craftsmanship...

An exquisite large vessel by Seifu Yohei III (1851-1914) enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The mirror smooth surface is lightly tinged pink, a delicate touch only Seifu could create. A brass four prong dorje from Tibet. The primary symbol and ritual implement used in Tantric Buddhism, also know as a vajra. It can be translated as "diamond" or "thunderbolt". Age: Pre 1920. Size: L. 12cm. W. 4.3cm. Condition: Perfect.

Like an aged boxer, the squat muscular crab takes a stance of readiness, one claw up prepared to defend against a coming attacker. This little fellow is unusual in that it is made of thick bronze, with each joint pinned in a way that allows for some mobility. Legs splayed the creature is 9 inches (23 cm) wide, standing it is 3-1/2 inches 89 cm) tall. There is a repair to the first joint of the 2nd left leg. It dates from the first part of the 20th century.

Everything about this sencha tea implement storage cabinet is top quality; a most unusual box made up almost entirely of worm wood featuring a removable door with an inner panel of antique Chinese origin, possibly an image of a tea salesman with his baskets of leaves. Description: A stone inkstone was in a simple and plain form. By a characteristic “Chao-Sou” form which was named after its easy-handle type, or “Lu-Xin”-shoes like form, the inlstone was carved from solid stone and was shaped regularly in a rectangular form. Starting from the wider side, the grinding surface was sloped slowly to the other side and being as an ink pool. The inkstone is in quite good size of 15.5cm in length. It was carved by an affluent craftsmanship...

The front of this Tibetan wooden snuff bottle is covered with silver repousse ornamentation. The back is surface is also silver.

The bottle is 5 inches x 4 inches x 2.5 inches.

A small koro made of porcelain with a splendid celadon glaze, in the style of the famous Chinese Song Longquan tripod censers. The pierced lid in silvered metal with design of clouds. Bottom with signature in cartouche. Condition: fine, minor surface scratches caused by the lid. Dimension: 7.4 cm high, diameter: 8 cm. Weight: 228 g.

Description:

A stoneware jar was preserved in an original condition.
Being applied with olive-green glaze on the the body, the jar or Hu was molded with a trumpet-like mouth and stand on a flat bottom.
Two well- mold loops were nicely pressed to the body as handles.
Decorations of incised wave bands were around the mouth while grooved patterns were carved around the body in the middle segment.
Black hue was affected to the slender neck and the mouth portion...
