Large Chinese Qing dynasty Qianlong period hexagonal form Yixing pottery tea caddy or canister. The flat panels are decorated with four moulded vertical stylized "dan" (tranquility) characters flanked by two bats each, symbolizing happiness and joy. The curved shoulder is encircled with small, impressed flowers. The bottom corners extend onto short, flat feet along the edge of the base. On the 9th day of the 6th month of 1775, 3 artists, Reisen Uno (Motoaki/Gensho, a songwriter, poet and calligrapher), Keiho Takada (Kano Chikuin, a Kano trained painter of budhist images and calligrapher) and the master of the Chikudo, Teiun held a songwriting party. This scroll is a recording of the scene, with the subsequent song written along the top, followed by a poem by Chikuin and Reisen, recorded by Teiun. A rare octagonal porcelain dish decorated in underglaze blue with a flowering bush by a rock, along the border stylized Chinese characters. The rim glazed brown, the base with three spur marks and a "fuku" mark within a double square. Dating to the early Edo period. A burlwood brush pot was preserved in very good condition.
In strong and sturdy form, the brush pot was hollowed from a burlwood trunk and was preserved with enduring old patina.
There're the greasy amber-like condition happened to the edge of the mouth rim. And the extensive crackles were yielded on the carbonized surface of the mouth rim and on the upper portion of the inner side.
They were strong evidences to judge the age of a brush pot, from the inner side...

A fine 18th century Chinese molded celadon-glazed porcelain dish, finely decorated continous chrysantemum scroll around the center with encircling a chrysantemum spray, a band of key-fret pattern around the foliated rim, covered overall in green glazed. DATE : Qianlong (1736 - 1795). SIZE : D = 26.5 cm CONDITION : very good condition with one tiny chip on the back of rim (can't be seen from the frontside), one tiny chip on the foot and no repairs

This is a fine reddish brown piece of bronze censer. It is of bombe shaped standing on three short feet resting on a curved lotus stand. On the underside of the bronzer censer, it bears the Ming dynasty Xuande reign mark but from the Qing dynasty, circa. 18th century. The stand is included with the censer.

The fine bronze censer is in very good condition.
