In strong and sturdy form, the brush pot was hollowed from a burlwood trunk and was preserved with enduring old patina.
There're the greasy amber-like condition happened to the edge of the mouth rim. And the extensive crackles were yielded on the carbonized surface of the mouth rim and on the upper portion of the inner side...

An Edo period image of plums blossoming on thick branches by Kitayama Kangan. Ink on paper in a patterned cloth mounting with beige piping in the Mincho style so popular int eh 19th century and featuring bone rollers. It is 21-1/2 x 78-1/2 inches (55 x 199 cm).
