An Edo Period Kozuka (utility knife handle.) Kinko (mixed soft metals) decoration on shakudo alloy with nanako (fish roe textured) background. Depicted in a farmer with horse in water plowing in prepartion to plant rice. A willow or other weeping tree, to one side, not yet with blooms. Nicely detailed with featured highlighted with gold and silver overlay. The water nicely textures with an itame (wood grain) effect. Serviceable, fair to good condition...

The lid decorated with a scene of go players in a garden. The rest of the box with Buddhist symbols on a dark blue ground. Dimensions: 19x8,5x4,5 cm. Condition: expected age wear, cracks and some old chips to the enamel. Overall in good condition.

Porcelain decorated with qilin on the center, continous floral scroll on the exterior, glazed base. PERIOD : Early Ming (1400-1487 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 27 cm wide. CONDITION: ezcellent, no chips, cracks, or hairlines and free from restoration.

In the shape of a Sennin (Immortal). H. 10 cm. Very good age wear and patina. Repaired at the feet.

Elaborate large head ornament featuring pumpkins, a butterfly and a cicada moth. Made of metal and cardboard covered with two shades of kingfisher feathers and red and green enamel. Condition: few losses of feathers. Dimension: 18 cm wide, 17 cm high.

Rare Chinese Early Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Figure (AD 618 - 906)

This rare and interesting pottery figure was made during the early part of the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is made from a grey pottery that is solid (as opposed to being hollow as are the majority of Tang figures) and relatively highly-fired. It has been "cold painted" in various coloured pigments. Crackled Porcelain decorated with vajra on the center, floral scroll on the outside, glazed base. PERIOD : Middle Ming 16 th Century. MEASUREMENTS: 15 cm wide, 6.5 cm tall. CONDITION:no chips, cracks or hairlines and free from restoration.

A translucent nephrite jade "bi" of a very light cream color (off-white). Both the front and reverse are beautifully carved with the same design of a variety of "curl" designs. Period: (17th- 18th Century) Size: Outer Diameter = 2-1/4" Condition: Perfect. Color in photo has a blue tone but it is actually white.

These jars have measure heght from 5 cm to 6.5 cm. Condition : Six lobed jar has some frits on the botttom and body. The others are perfect condition.

Remnants of yellow glaze covers this Heishi (Heiji) bottle form from the Owari-Seto area engraved clearly about the neck with three lines. A quintessential Kamakura pot. There is much degradation to the glaze typical of Seto which has withstood a millennium of earthquake, fire, war and abuse. That anything survives so long in Japan is miraculous. It is 9-1/2 inches (24 cm) tall, 6-1/2 inches (16.5 cm) diameter and comes wrapped in old cloth in an old wooden box.

Kraak period, Wanli reign (1563 - 1620) large plate or low bowl done in underglaze blue on white ground. The center design shows a dragon.
