Description: An aigrette in stylized standing form was actually carved from a piece of natural root wood. In beautiful style, the aigrette twisted her neck when standing on a rock which was from another natural wood piece. As a traditional craftsmanship, this unique wood carving was in quite good size and would be an attractive display item in your house. Kogai hair stick: 6 1/2" long. The metal is brass with silver petals. The orange flowers are coral. The decoration is both hammered into the metal with a dye and engraved using a chisel. This dates from the late Meiji or Taisho period.

An underglaze blue painted jar and cover decorated in 17th/18th Century Kangxi style with prunus blossoms against a "cracked ice" back ground. This item was made later, during the late Qing or very early Republic period, circa 1875 to 1915. Condition - very good. There is a very slight shallow surface chip to the top of the neck. No further chips, no cracks and no restoration...

Tobacco-bon came to be the "must have" entertainment piece in the Edo period (1614-1868)...

This purse would have had a shoulder strap attached and would have been used by an adult female of the Chinese Yi ethnic minority group. All hand stitched with cross stitching embroidery and other techniques, hand made cording (string) knotted across the bottom. The bag is lined with home spun had woven fabric made from "fireweed" plant. Back is unadorned.

This traditional Han child's silk hat is wonderfully embroidered with floral scenes around the brim, butterflies and birds around the sections of the crown, while tassels accentuate the upturned morterboard. The long draped wind protector section at the back shows fade line...otherwise the hat is in excellant condition.

Description: A real scholar's item with Zen atmosphere of this piece was ingeniously made use of a root wood. With good old patina, this piece was in original condition without any restorations. It testified itself that it had been carefully treated and treasured by the past collectors despite its informal style among typical Chinese scholar's items. Description: An old Yixing flower arrangement basin with inscription " Sui Qing Xe Qi" (the water is pure while the rock is unique) on one side and carved flower motif on the other side had a special Chinese scholar taste.
