Description:This superb glazed bowl was made in the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). The bowl has been glazed in a yellowish glaze with the freely-drawn design in green and brown glazes.
Diameter 15 cm.
Condition: There is a tiny chip to the rim and the four areas of brown flaking glaze to the sides have been touched up .An unique example very rarely offered for sale.
Similar example was seen at the book of
"The Chinese Potters' Exploration of Iron Oxide Glazes".

A very rare crystal tiger from Burma/Thailand. Crystal was thought to have magical powers and the tiger represents strength. It is unknown how they drilled the holes to make it wearable.As you can see they were drilled at both ends, probably before the crystal was carved.

A bakumatsu era (mid 19th century) Shishi Koro of dark red clay covered in a rich green glaze from the Banko kilns in Mie. It is 14 x 24 x 8 cm (9 x 5-1/2 x 3 inches) and is in fine condition but for one clawed toe which has been chipped. This squat style of facial expression was popular from the declining years of the Edo period into the early Meiji, and fits the date of this piece perfectly.
Japanese shin hanga woodblock print titled "Kansai District: Seta Bridge" by Hiroshi Yoshida (1876-1950) dated Showa 8 (1933). 1st edition impression with "jizure" (self-printed) seal in the upper left margin. The artist's black ink brush signature and red seal are at the lower right. The print is pencil-signed in the lower right margin. Illustrated in "The Complete Woodblock Prints of Yoshida Hiroshi," Abe Publications, color plate #182...

Condition : restoration to a small fritting, no cracks or lines.
Chinese late Qing to early Republic period ceramic modeled container shaped like a "ha ma," or toad, with a hollow body and flat base covered in a monochrome pearl glaze with a seeded finish. Measures about 10 ½”L x 9 ¼”W x 6”H. There are some old surface cracks visible. The back section appears to have been restored and the gray areas in the pearl glaze appear to be old restorations which were executed in China...
