Red highlights the gray and white of this Tea bowl by Kato Yasukage enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Nezumi Shino Chawan.  Yasukage has cupped and misshapen the bowl into five subtly flattened sides, with an undulating rim forming five peaks, the pin-holed glaze burnt and licked crimson by the flames...

Golden Camellia blossom all bout theoutside of this lovely wan-gata Chawan by the famous female artist Ono Hakuko enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Kinrande Chawan.  The pattern is created by applying gold foil to the surface before firing.  Here she has cut the gold foil into patterns of camellia blossoms, and applied them over red glaze to great effect...

A round form covered in fissured green celadon by Kishimoto Kennin enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Seiji Chawan and endorsed inside by Zen Priest Tachibana Daiki of Daitokuji Temple, home of the Tea Ceremony.  Profound, like an empty blue sky, the form floats lightly over the dark clay of the perfectly formed kodai base.  It is signed within that base ring by Kennin.

A wide and low porcelain bowl perfect for Usu-cha by Ono Hakuko enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Yuri Kinsai Chawan.  The pattern is created by applying gold foil to the surface before firing, and called in Japanese Kinsai.  Gaps in the application create designs like broken ice.
