Inspired by an ancient Aztec or Maya eagle head glyph this set of Antonio Pineda cufflinks were crafted in the maestro’s favorite, .970 silver alloy. Overlay and oxidation are used here to convey the bird’s of prey features, fearsome by default yet a little bit on the cartoonish side as well, if I am allowed the comparison… Measuring

These interesting turquoise and sterling silver earrings were made in Mexico. The clover shape looks like three hearts with a stem, with the turquoise inlay separated by the sterling silver. The back of one of the screwbacks is marked HECHO EN MEXICO 925 (of which only HECHO EN M and 9 are legible). They also have the maker's initials: a curved BEH, of which the H is not fully stamped.
These earrings measure 1" x 3/4". The patina is great as are the turquoise colors.

Classic Antonio Pineda bracelet that is board room sleek with a look that goes anywhere. The bracelet has a 2.5in. diameter and 5/8th in. high stature. There is a light amount of patina which will be left for the buyer to do with as they prefer. The hallmark is signed correctly as shown. It is hard to find one in this condition without dents or damage. I believe the stones to be a low sheen obsidian. Everything goes with the color black. Collector quality

Decorated with applied wirework rosettes, this hoop necklace has an Asian feel, but sports Austrian import marks (hard to see in the photo). It is continuous, and doesn’t appear to have ever had a clasp. The necklace has a nice weight and a dramatic, contemporary look. The Austrian mark for silver content is illegible, but the necklace is probably .800 or .835 fineness; the mark indicates a registration in Vienna. Doubled, it measures about 14 ½ inches long. Weight: 74.8 grams

A classic looking bracelet, composed of a thick cuban link chain with a clasp formed as a belt with a buckle. The belt has two holes, and can be adjusted for a larger wrist, but looks best and is most secure when fastened at the smaller size. The belt end is secured by a hinged bar representing the belt loop. Accounting for the best fit, the bracelet length is about 7 ¼ inches; it is ½ inch wide at the buckle. The marks for Italy and sterling are on the underside of the belt, as well as a make...

A classic, and much published, design for Hector Aguilar, the “masks” bracelet was not an example of the Taxco maestro’s work that I was particularly looking for. I considered it - let’s say - less impressive than the rest of his jewelry and resisted it for the longest of times. Until one day, I somehow ended up with one. And I fell in love- honestly. I think it is the silkiness of the well-aged fine silver and the bracelet’s incredible ability to wrap itself around the wrist as if it...

We have a Matl Salas, gold wash, and snake bracelet to match a Matl snake necklace also listed on our site. Fun and perfect for this summer - especially if you decide to stay away from beaches! - this mod sterling silver "fish with air bubble" necklace by Los Castillo comes out of the workshop's "onix negro" line of jewelry. I find this technique fascinating - it poses a big challenge to the lapidary's and silversmith's abilities as the onyx slab has to be carved out precisely to the dimensions of the sterling inlay that will be set in it. The transition from one material to the other has to be perfec...
