I have had full-sized Mexican silver and stone "idol" pendant necklace before but none like this exquisite example I am presenting here. Beautifully carved and visually imposing, the pendant's onyx Aztec / Maya male figure is shown in what I believe might be a supplication position. Cross-hatched bracelets carved into the stone hug his wrists while a silver necklace and an impressive headdress are the only other adornments covering his naked body...

This sterling silver necklace is composed of curved panels with recessed areas that divide each panel into three sections. The middle section remains silver; the outer sections have a copper and brass plating. The necklace is nicely made, with soldered links and a secure tongue–and-groove clasp. A very high quality and well made sterling cuff bracelet with a great Modernist design. It is signed H. Pozzo 925 in the inside and Made in France with two French hallmarks on the outer rim of one terminal. The bracelet measures 5 1/2" around in the inside with an additional 1 1/2" opening.
