A delightful late Victorian or Edwardian pendant in the form of a poodle jumping through a hoop. The wonderfully detailed poodle is cast in sterling silver and the hoop is 14K gold. The dog is fully three-dimensional, and the eyes are set with small pyrope garnets. The pendant is marked “14K Sterling.”

A first design period sterling silver cuff bracelet by William Spratling. This cuff, known as the 'Cholula', measures 5 7/8" around with an opening of 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" wide. Better for the larger wrist. Weighs 84 Gr.

Marked with the incised WS and Spratling Made in Mexico in a circle mark, and an impressed Spratling Silver.

Has some wear to the darkened patina and some small dings along the edges.

This massive cuff by Antonio Pineda features a design inspired by the French cave of Lascaux. He made several items with this design which can be found in the book "Silver Seductions" on page 141. This bracelet measures 2 1/4" at the front tapering to 1" at the back with an inside measurement of 5" and an opening of 1 3/4". Very heavy at 135.3 grams. This is a stunning necklace with a timeless elegance by the famous and highly sought after Fred Davis. It consists of three rows of silver half domes that slightly overlap and when closed creates a continuous design. It's been a while since I presented a piece by Gerardo Lopez but he is one of my favorite Taxco maestros, a talented silversmith and designer who excelled in the art of repoussage. I believe Lopez was at his best when he created pectoral necklaces and clamper bracelets and it is an exquisite example of the latter form that I am showing here...

One of Antonio Pineda's most spectacular bracelets and highly sought after by collectors is his "Spheres" bracelet. Also known as the Ball Bearing or Saturn design it's a book piece featured on page 52 in Silver Seductions and was also included in the Fowler museum exhibit. An unusual pendant by the noted modernist jeweler, Paul Lobel. This pendant, made of a sterling silver 'wishbone' with a dark rusty orange, probably carnelian drop, is a rare design. You can see lots of striations when it is held up to the light.

Signed on the inside, LOBEL, Sterling. Has a large bale so can be worn on a thick chain, cord or neck ring. Currently suspended from a black silky cord. The pendant measures 1 1/4" across and 2" high including the bale...

This stunning bracelet by Felipe Martinez has the most gorgeous Azur-Malachite stones in vivid shades of blue and green set in thick sculped links. Measures 6 5/8" long by 1" wide and weighs 76.7 grams. Hallmarked "Piedra y Plata, Martinez, Sterling, Taxco, 175" and the eagle 3. No damage noted, it has a secure clasp and attached safety chain. Martinez was known for his superb lapidary skills and this beautiful bracelet is a wonderful example of his work.

Signed by a listed yet still unidentified workshop, this set of vintage silver and gold cufflinks is a classic Mexican Deco design. Inspired by the massive Aztec carved stone "Sun Disk" discovered in 1790 during excavations in Mexico City's zocalo, the pair is generous in size and quite nicely made...

A vintage hand wrought sterling silver brooch from the American Studio Modernist jeweler, John Lewis. Made up of multiple circles at different heights and contrasting textures. You can see the light hammering around the edge.

Measures about 2 1/4" across and 2" high. Heavy and substantial. Weighs 38 gr. Marked Sterling and with the crossed JL mark of the artist. It is marked under the pin making it difficult to photograph.

The indisputable queen of Mexican enamelwork, Margot de Taxco created an amazing series of jewelry in that technique which she first started focusing on while still married to Antonio Castillo and designing for the family workshop. As with her other jewelry here too the sources of inspiration were varied covering distances not only in geographical space but also in time...

A pair of vintage modernist sterling silver brooches in boomerang patterns by Hans Hansen, Denmark designed by Bent Gabrielsen. One brooch is also marked with the dotted oval mark of Georg Jensen. Can be purchased individually or as a pair.

The dually signed brooch measures 3" across, and 3/4" wide. Weighs 13 Gr.

Spratling designed this eye catching "entwined hands" buckle in the late 1940's. Measuring 5" X 2 1/4" & weighing 49 grams the piece is in beautiful condition. The back loops will accommodate up to a 1 inch strap. The buckle can also be worn as a pendant. Spratling also designed a similar "hands" necklace. Hallmarks are WS 925. A later version, (c.1965) of this buckle appears on p. 147 of WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE by Penny Morrill.

This fine Modernist Bracelet by Antonio Pineda features open work links with two panels overlapping creating a unique design. Measuring 7 1/2" long by 1 1/8" wide and it weighs a heavy 126.6 grams. It has a secure box clasp with an attached safety chain and shows only light age related wear and tarnish. Hallmarked with the Antonio Crown, Taxco, JVL and the eagle 208. A vintage modernist necklace with a textured and polished silver pendant on what looks like the original chain by the master sculptor and artist from Ecuador, Oswaldo Guayasamin. Has 5 dangles suspended from the bottom and a central polished concave disk dangling from the center.

Signed by Graziella Laffi, the often referred-to as "Spratling of Peru" this bird brooch can also be found with blue enamel adorning its eye.
