Today we are offering a signed Taxco 980 necklace constructed using the technique of repousse. This necklace is made with thick silver weighing 109 grams. The length is 18.5 inches. Each link going around the neck is 2.25in. long. The drop is 2.75 inches across and 2 inches tall. It bears a natural patina and has no damage or repairs. The stones are without chips or cracks. There are natural striations naturally inside the stone which is familiar to Mexican Silver just, LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!

A rare necklace and matching earrings made of alternating Sterling Silver and Rosewood tubes by William Spratling from Taxco. The marks on this set date them to his Third Design Period: 1951 - 1967.

This William Spratling Silver Cuff will spark envy unto all at your New Years Eve Party. The cuff has an 87 gram weight. The face front is 1 5/8th inches tall. The side pieces graduate smaller to larger starting with the gap which is 1 inch wide. The inside diameter is 2.25in. which will fit most.

This distinctive ring features an organic design with an asymmetrical domed form. It is textured with wavy narrow ridges similar to seaweed. The inner band bears the mark of Spanish jewelry designer Joachim S’Paliu as well as the mark for sterling silver and dates 1960s-1970s. There is a curious crack on one side of the ring that extends up inside the top (see pictures 4 and 5). It doesn't appear to be damage or affect the stability of the ring...

A long pitchfork shaped sterling silver brooch by Jean Lasnier. He was a member of the Metal Arts Guild between 1951-64 with many of the well known studio artisans of the Mid Century Modern jewelry movement.

Made of polished sterling with a central textured piece for an interesting contrast. Measures 4" long and 1" across at the widest. Marked Sterling and Lasnier on the back. Has a rollover clasp that holds securely.

This stunning Los Castillo sterling silver necklace has a huge presence. The necklace has a 97 gram weight and a total length of 16.5 inches wearable. The weight shows the integrity of the thick repousse. Truly one of the finest examples from the Mexican Silver Renaissance. No repairs or damage, just look at that necklace!

An amazing sterling silver Cuff Bracelet by the well known Arizona modernist silversmith, H. Fred Skaggs. Has one huge central oval greenish-black cabochon surrounded by thick sterling curls.

Measures about 5 1/2" around with an opening of 1 1/2". Can be adjusted slightly. Cabochon measures 3 3/8" long and 2" wide. The bracelet has tarnish, we will leave the decision to polish or not up to the new owner.

We have a Hector Aguilar cuff to offer today that is one of my favorite designs to wear. The silver is thick and is 1.5in. tall. The quality is further shown with a weight of 110 grams. Inside diameter is 2.25in. and can be professionally sized to fit if needed. The silver is deeply chased. On each side of the gap is a taller swirl than the width of the band giving it beauty all the way to it's ends. A collectors must have and all who desire a show stopper.

A vintage sterling silver hammered money clip made by the Gaylord Silvercraft in Wallingford, CT. The Gaylord Farm Sanitarium was active from 1923-1944 and was organized by William Waldo Dodge.

Measures about 2 3/8" long and 1" wide. Marked Sterling, Hand Wrought and with an impressed upright hammer flanked by two wings for the maker. It currently has a 'G' monogram, but could probably be buffed out.

Fine work, quality piece.

Beautiful repousse' work in this elegant design by William Spratling brings the piece to life. Weighing 23 grams and measuring 3" x 2" the brooch was designed as a dress or fur clip. Spratling designed this piece in a few different sizes. For comparison see the 4" x 3 1/2" example also listed on our site. All in beautiful condition with excellent patina. The larger size is included in the permanent collection of 20th century Mexican silver at LACMA.

Wedgwood blue jasper ware bead pendant. Jasper ware, invented and introduced by Josiah W in the late 18th century, was a success in the neoclassical period around 1800.The extremely finely moulded white ornaments are fixed to unglazed blue stoneware to create a carved cameo effect. The bead is Georgian, from the last years of the 18th century, whereas the silver gilt chain is later, c 1900. It is stamped Sterling and has a Swedish import mark (three crowns in an oval and an S)...

A substantial sterling silver necklace with interlocking block links alternating with molded cuboid elements. The cuboids or rectangular blocks bear impressed, oxidized linear patterns on all sides, giving the piece a sense of depth. It is secured with a lobster clasp that is marked 925 for sterling silver, and the necklace also tests definitively for sterling. Unclasped, the chain measures 30 in. long. Weight: 64 grams

This handmade wide band ring features a random design of molten drops on a textured surface. The irregular band shape has an upturned edge along the top, where the opposite edge comes to a rounded point. It bears the post-1967 Italian mark for silver, hallmarked for the city of Siena; the hallmark is double-struck, so the maker's number could read 722, 712 or something similar...

Measures about 1 5/8" across and 1 7/8" high including the bale. In very nice condition with a dark patina, we did not polish it.

Simple, elegant modernist earrings of irregular-shaped panels by Frances Holmes Boothby, bezel-set with cabochons of dyed black onyx. They have very secure screw backs and are marked fhb on the reverse of one, sterling on the other, with sterling indicated on both of the screw backs. The stones are in excellent condition, with no scratches, nicks or other issues. The earrings measure approximately 3/4 in. long by 1/2 in. wide. Gross weight: 7.4 grams total

A substantial bangle bracelet decorated with impressed and oxidized geometric designs. These modernist earrings feature polished, irregular-shaped composite turquoise drops attached to serpentine pieces of forged sterling silver wire, secured by curled ends. They hang from commercial screw backs that are marked (and test positively for) sterling silver and are in excellent working condition. The earrings measure approximately 2 1/4 in. long. They are otherwise unmarked.

Design 5161 is a Margot de Taxco masterpiece of beads and swirls. Hallmarked correctly as shown with a 100 gram weight showing off quality repousse and a generous 18 inch wearable length. The drop is constructed with 3 links which measures an expansive 7 in. It leads up the neck without intrusion to the sides of the neck. It makes a perfect silhouette and lays in a well thought out manner. I have seen this design connected to the inside link of the drop and it stuck out rather oddly this one is...

A pair of hammered sterling silver buckles by Edward H. Breese, who worked in Chicago from 1921-1940.

Measure 2" across and 1 3/4" high. Each one is marked on the back with the hallmark of EHB in a triangle and style number 126. They are also marked Sterling and Hand Wrought.

They are made from thick sterling and have a dark patina. Would make wonderful brooches.

Measures 2 5/8" long and 5/8" at the widest. Has one central dark purple cabochon. Very light, delicate hammering, beautiful repousse work. Marked 830S for the Danish silver standard and the stylized EN mark on the back. Has an older rollover clasp which holds securely. Very fine condition, with minor tarnish.

A very unique hand hammered sterling pendant and necklace with two green stones, (probably Chrysoprase).

Pendant measures 6" long and 1 3/4" at the widest. Chain measures 18" long and has a hook closure. Marked on the back Israel, 925 and an 'M' in a circle for the artisan's mark.

There are 'Y' shaped cut outs behind the stones so light can shine through. Striking design, lots of movement.

An early cross pendant in Sterling Silver with Coral, Amethyst and Turquoise by Matilde Poulat. Cross measures 1 3/4" wide and 1 7/8" tall. Marked MATL in script, Mexico, 925 and Pate 10670. Amethyst stone is faceted. Suspended on a 26" long Taxco hand wrought sterling chain marked with an Eagle #3, and the initials PCM. Fine condition, the colors of the stones are vibrant. This lovely enameled pansy, originally a screwback earring, has been converted to a colorful ring with the addition of sterling silver shank. The pansy is enameled in bright shades of purple and yellow. The enamel has a slight iridescent effect and is translucent so the engraved silver shines through for added texture. In the Victorian language of flowers, the pansy generally conveyed the meaning, “Think of me.” Purple and yellow pansies more specifically meant, “Forget me not.” The back...

An unusual pair of twisted Taxco, Mexico Sterling Silver earrings with bronze or copper ends by William Spratling. We have not been able to find another pair in this design. Measure 3/4" across and 5/8' high. Marked on the back of each screw back with Spratling Silver which was used from 1940-44. Screw backs hold securely. Israeli silver filigree ornament that could be used both as a brooch and a pendant. Parcel gilt – the teardrops surrounding the oval black stone are left in white silver. Width "2 / 5.5 cm. Probably 1970's, marked in Hebrew (?) plus Made in Israel 935. Safety clasp. Condition: fine.

Large Ottoman part belt buckle half, 19th century. Classic Paisley (teardrop) shape. Repoussé and engraved decoration of an eagle surrounded by flowers. Use of both hook and backside bars will make the buckle a perfect and beautiful pendant. The back with engraved name “Aine” in European lettering. Height "3 ½/ 9 cm, weight 49 grams. Condition: fine.

Probably could be slightly adjusted if needed. Marked with the incised WS with Spratling Made in Mexico in a circle mark, and Sterling. Has some minor scratches and tarnish and some very tiny dings. A true find for the collector.
