Even a colorful birch manages to make it out of an exposed crevice. Using a limited palette of 6 + white, the darkish rocks in a myriad of greens, sienna and purps make a dramatic juxtaposition with the buttery golden sky...

Lorenzo Padilla Diaz Cuban - French Artist well listed artist from Cuba living in Montparnasse France. A oil on canvas of a jolly man smoking wearing a hat signed and dated 69 ll and inscription on back. Seems to be the original frame. Size sight approx 19.5" by 15.5" frame 24" by 22" . Unsigned acrylic/oil portrait of a woman worker acquired from a Hong Kong auction. I am assuming this was painted while China and Russia were still friends so would date this pre 1960. Good example of Socialist Realism (girl meets tractor) kitsch, W: 35cm/13.8in and H: 45.cm/17.8in.
