A small, beautifully crafted oil on canvasboard landscape titled on reverse "Abandoned Farm Santa Clara River", dated June 1999, signed at lower right and again on the reverse, and with artist's business card affixed as well. The painting measures 8" by 10" and 11 1/2" by 13 1/2" in wood frame with liner. Condition is excellent. The artist was born in Pennsylvania and has been in Southern California for most of his life, with much of his subject matter taken from the Oxnard and Ventura area...

It is framed in gold frame with clean liner and all in all is a solid decorative picture for moderate cost.

Oil on canvasboard, 16" by 20" and 1 1/4" dark stained oak frame, signed at lower left with initial "D", and executed en grisaille (grays, whites, black). This is a work by an accomplished artist, showing what appears to be a solemn funeral gathering, with a minister reading from the bible as a black gravedigger looks on at right. The style of dress of the mourners suggests the 19th century as the period depicted...

Grace Carpenter HudsonBorn in Potter Valley near Ukiah, CA on Feb. 21, 1865- 1937. It is oil on fine silk laid on board, 14" by 14" and signed G Hudson lower left circa 1895-1905. It is in overall good condition with minor frame rubbiing on bottom left. A Fine Painting from the Noted Tucson Artist, Marylka Modjeska (1893-1966). Modjeska studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, in Provincetown, MA, at the Art Student League in New York and the Academie Julian in Paris. This Painting measures about 23 1/2" by 20" in its frame of about 28" by 24".

Koppen was born in Brake, Germany and died in Nymphenbourg. He was known for his paintings of marine and historical scenes, as well as portraits.

Oil on canvas, 15" by 19" (22" by 25 1/2" as framed), the subject the famous Taos Pueblo of northern New Mexico, an iconic scene of the Great Southwest, the painting signed at lower right "Stowell". Included in this picture is a stormy dark sky, the pueblo itself bathed in a ray of sun, and no less than eight figures and one saddled horse. I have researched the signature and cannot definitively tie this to any particular artist, listed or otherwise...

Oil on canvas, 12" by 15 3/4", unframed and unsigned, the subject a pensive figure, likely a male, seated on a breezy patio with French doors, curtains and a Paris-style small cafe table and chairs, a tea or coffee service on the table. The anonymous artist created a very appealing, contemporary little work, with impressive impressionist technique.
