Original oil painting on panel by Robert Lohman (American, 1919-2001), offered in excellent original condition. This painting is currently unframed. It measures roughly 15" by 6". It is signed and dated 1960 l.l. Also signed, dated, and titled "Chanteuse, Singing Girl" on the verso. Robert Lohman is a well listed American painter and sculptor. Maurice Braun is one of the most well-known artists of California Impressionism. His deeply rooted beliefs in the unity of man and nature combined with the beauty of America’s southwest landscape gave rise to paintings that made him one of the most lauded artists of his day...

This is a rather unusual and visually arresting contemporary work by a Japanese or Japanese-American artist, signed at top right "Yasushi Saito" and dated there '78. An oil on canvas, unframed, measuring 23" by 19", the work is difficult to describe: a carp-like blue fish at right center appears with conical mountains that resemble Mount Fuji or desert peaks, as stunted bizarre vegetation, possibly trees, complete the visual feast...

This sweet genre painting of a shepherdess with her flock reflects the theme of the child-of-nature, a sensibility embraced by Victorians during the 19th century. The figure’s youth and comely face convey innocence, while her steadfast pose next to the goldenrod suggests that she is at ease in her environment.

Ideal additions to a child's room, these three colorful original paintings, each 8" by 10", unframed, are fine examples of naive or "primitive" art from Haiti. Each is signed by artist "E Maxime". The fantasy landscapes of wild animals surrounded by tropical vegetation of a wide array of vivid colors and unusual shapes are bound to stimulate a child's imagination. Oil on canvas painting, unsigned, featuring a cluster of green grapes and apples, a woven basket at upper left, 8 1/4" by 11 1/4", 13 1/2" by 16 1/2" in modern day quality reproduction frame, circa 1880's. The canvas stencil on reverse is of Reeves & Sons, 113 Cheapside, London (the well-known art supplies firm moved to that address in 1857 and remained there until 1890). When acquired this work had attached a modern handwritten note with "Lisa Statt Sterling/1800's"...

Oil on canvas portrait of a middle aged man seen in profile, not signed on the front, possibly signed on the reverse, 20" by 16", unframed. The man appears to be a clerk in his work clothes, circa 1910 to mid 1930 perhaps. On the reverse written faintly on the canvas is "WM. HODES FRANKLIN" or similar--. Below that is what appears to be "BRACKMAN"...

Oil on canvas laid on board painting of a man and two female companions, relaxing in a sun dappled forest in summer, the gentleman playing a guitar, the women in feminine dress with bonnets and hats. The work, (24" by 30", and mid 20th century frame 4" on a side), has for years defied my efforts to identify the artist, as the signature at lower right is very difficult indeed. It appears to begin with a "B", and I have tried combinations such as "Brettschneider" to no avail...

James Carroll Beckwith, 1852-1957, NY, Illinois, France. This oil on panel is exquisite, 35.5cm by 26.5 cm,(13 5/8" by 10.5") signed, and in good condition in a beautiful 4" gold leaf frame. Provenance: Private collection in the Midwest, Purchased from a Private Collection in Florida, Purchased at Thomas Moran Auction, Private California Collection.

Moses SOYER 1899-1974 wass a Russian born artist part of the Soyer family of artist that Immigrated to America and the early 20th century. He worked for the WPA in the 1930s under the Roosevelt administration and was featured in many exhibitions and documentaries
