Watercolor and pencil on paper drawing of a red roofed village church surrounded by small houses and trees, 12 1/4" by 17 7/8" (20 3/4" by 25 1/2" as framed), signed at lower right "V.J. Roux-Champion 1944). The drawing is a work of noted French artist VICTOR JOSEPH ROUX-CHAMPION (1871-1953). Condition is excellent with fresh colors and no water damage or foxing. The artist's works are offered at auction in England and the Continent.

For the collector of rare, and desirable early Florida art: a watercolor painting titled in pencil lower left "Old Spanish House/St. Augustine", dated 1881, apparently not signed. The work, paper laid on a board, measures 9 3/4" by 13 3/4". An early 20th century 13 1/2" by 17 1/2" frame (not shown) accompanies the watercolor. On the reverse side of the board in modern times someone wrote "Attributed to William Turner Dannat" but this is highly unlikely. There were few talented watercolor ar...
