The work measures 9" by 12" and 11 5/8" by 14 1/2" in old probably original frame. The lack of a signature frustrates an effort to identify this talented artist, who might well be listed. A tempera or gouache painting titled "Good Times, Hard Times", 1985, by noted Southern California artist BARBARA LEE DOUGHERTY (1949-2015), the subject given as a scene on a back road between Santa Paula and Ojai in Ventura County. Dougherty was an active exhibitor at art shows in California through the 1980's and 1990's. Evidently later she spent time in Maryland. See information online about the talented artist...

Oil on canvas painting, 20" by 24", unframed, the subject the historic old Presidential Palace in Haiti's capital city, Port-au-Prince, signed at lower right "Ysmay". The naive work shows the palace as it looked before the tragic earthquake of January 2010, in which over 200,000 people in the country lost their lives, the infrastructure suffering enormous damage. The palace was wrecked and to my knowledge has not been repaired...

Charming small round painting in the original gold wood frame, 9 1/2" diameter as framed, the subject given on the reverse of the board in the artist's own handwriting: "Heilige Nacht in Villingen" ("Holy Night in Villingen"), also, "N. gem. v. Albert Sager" ("painted/executed by Albert Sager") signed there including the artist's most unusual monogram which includes the date of execution, 1922. That monogram is also incised carefully in the wet paint on the front side at right...

Watercolor on paper, measuring approximately 12" by 16 1/2" (19" by 23" as framed), the subject El Capitan peak, also called Agathla by the Navajo people, a sharp, distinct isolated mountain south of Monument Valley, Arizona, over 1500 feet (457 meters) high. The drawing is titled "El Capitan" at lower left and signed with what appears to be "Turla" at lower right; I don't see a listing for that artist name...

Original antique watercolor floral botanical painting of a tulip 19th century c.1850. This lovely original watercolor is from a mid 19th century botanical watercolor album. While little is known about the work, it was clearly done by a highly skilled artist. The paper is Whatman watermarked and dated. . Presented matted with archival materials and framed.

A good-sized watercolor (30 1/2" by 22 1/2", and 37 1/2" by 29 1/2" in present framing without glass), the subject New Mexico adobes in a late autumn landscape, the trees in flaming yellows, backed by surrounding mountains. In the foreground is a small body of water providing a deep blue color to set off the yellow. The work is signed at lower left "J. Van Sant". I have been unable to locate a known artist by this name...

I do not see a listing for the artist, who likely painted this around the year 1970 judging from the framing and non-glare type glass (which will be discarded before shipping). The piece, on Crescent art board, measures 18 3/4" by 25" inside the mat, and 25" by 31" in worn dark oak framing...

The work measures 12 1/2" by 16" inside the mat (21 1/2" by 23 3/4" nicely framed with hand drawn mat lines). Note the details of the skyline, with its many church steeples. The work is nicely painted, which makes it all the more surprising that there is no listing for the artist...

A pleasing watercolor painting of small boats in a coastal landscape in England, 10" by 14 3/4" (13" by 17 3/4" framed), signed at lower right twice, by listed English artist JOHN MORTIMER. Mortimer painted watercolors in Cornwall, Devon, Sussex, and other parts of the British Isles. The work is in excellent condition. Old backing has a print of a landscape. Allow for reflections in a few photos.

The sharp peak in the background center could be the Matterhorn, in which case we could assume the subject is Zermatt, Switzerland. I'd guess the age of the work as circa 1950's.
