From the set of lithographs, Paris dans sa Splenour, published in 1861, this one is titled, “TOUR St. JAQUES – LA BOUCHERIE ET RUE DE RIVOLIE.” The printer and lithographer are shown in details of the lower left and right corners. The image without printing is 9 1/4 by 14 1/8 inches (23.5 x 36 cm), the page 12 ¾ by 18 ½ inches (32.5 x 47 cm).

Condition: some staining, roughness around the margins and some rubbing of the surface...

An interesting color printed engraving of George Washington published in London in 1798 by Robert Cribb, Holborn, engraved by William Nutter after a painting by Gilbert Stuart purported to belong to J.S. DeFranca of Devonshire Place. Devonshire Place is a part of London, but a quick search did not turn up a J.S. DeFranca and it is possible that this print is a copy of another print of Washington, based on the Lansdowne portrait by Gilbert Stuart...

A large etching titled, “Veduta della Gran Curia Innocenziana,” (View of the Palazzo di Monetcitorio) part of Giovanni Battista Piranesi’s folio of Views of Rome, first published in 1752. The etchings were often reproduced, but this one has both the correct heavy laid paper with appropriate watermark and the center crease where it was folded into the original folio. An antique original etching of a standing cow in profile, a village seen at left distance, by Dutch Old Master artist MARCUS DE BIE (sometimes DE BYE), with birth death dates of approximately 1639-1688. The print is heavily trimmed, apparently (3 3/4" by 5 1/4", unframed). Extreme left corners are either dog-eared or missing, and there is a light horizontal crease that likely would not be noticeable at normal viewing distance when framed. De Bye was a pupil of Jacob van de Does...
