For the Andrew Wyeth collector, a color collotype print "Arthur Cleveland", circa 1965, from a limited edition of only 100, **with INK SIGNED-by-the-artist label** affixed to the backing. The print measures 26" by 18 3/4" and frame is 1 1/2" wide on a side. This was acquired in Connecticut; the seller stated that it had been acquired from a Boston gallery in the 1960's by her parents, who had unfortunately trimmed off the margins to make it fit the frame...

THREE pencil signed etchings, all of orientalist subject matter including possible temples, mosques and bazaars, all unframed, by the Dutch artist MARIUS BAUER (1867-1932). Bauer was born in The Hague and died in Amsterdam but in his lifetime strayed far from the confines of the Netherlands, visiting the Middle East, India, Russia, North Africa and the Dutch East Indies. Etching on very thin paper, "Charles Baudelaire, de Face", 1865, later, likely posthumous impression, by the famous French artist EDOUARD MANET (1832-1883). The work measures 3 3/4" by 3 1/4" inside the plate mark, and the sheet measures 8 1/4" by 6 1/4". This is Guerin #38 in the catalogue raisonne, and probably the 4th (final) state. The paper being very thin and flimsy, would lead me to believe this would NOT be a twentieth century restrike. There is a simple modern frame...

A print titled, “LE DEPART D’UNE FIORE” on heavy paper with the colors brown blue red/pink and black on white paper. Sometimes I find it difficult to determine if the colors have been applied to a single plate or if the print has been made with a separate plate for each color. This print feels as if it was printed with more than one plate because of the mixing of colors in some places and the clean separation in others...

Haku Maki produced this “pair” of prints in 1968. The first image is Child. This is the first time Maki produced an image with Child as a theme. Poem 68-52. The second one is his kanji for Water. Poem 68-53. This image was used again in the set of 21 prints he produced for Festive Wine, which was issued in 1969. The colors in both are strikingly beautiful in these images – as they also are as prints. Maki signed each in white ink, something he rarely did...
