A lovely hand colored scene, "City of Providence", engraved by listed American 19th century artist ASA COOLIDGE WARREN (1819-1904) after an apparent painting by artist R. Hinshelwood (see lower right margin for that name). Robert Hinshelwood (1812-1879) came from England circa 1835; he was an engraver, etcher and painter. The panoramic view is from a high point, and some tiny figures in the composition add human interest...

A beautiful German Expressionist lithograph from 1923 advertising Wheat. Measuring 26” x 19”
An Old Master woodcut, likely one of 118 images illustrating one of the greatest books of the German Renaissance, going by that same name, Theuerdank. The book is considered something of a chivalric romance, relating the fictionalized, romanticized adventures of Maximilian I in the course of his journey to the Netherlands in 1477 to fetch his bride, Mary of Burgundy. Apparently Maximilian, also known as the Holy Roman Emperor (1459-1519), wanted to achieve a measure of immortality...

A very fine engraving by the 17th Century artist Hollar measuring 5”. 7” and framed size is 11” x 15”……. Winter is one of the most recognized works of Bohemian engraver Wencesclaus Hollar (1607–1677). It is the final image in a series of etchings portraying each of the four seasons as embodied by a female figure. In Winter, the woman is almost entirely covered by layers of furs and warm fabrics, staving off seasonal frigid temperatures...
**PAIR** color offset prints after two Southwest landscape paintings by the noted artist ED MELL (1942-), each laid on artboard and measuring 24" by 36". They were found in brown metal frames with no mat; frames available with the prints at no extra charge should the buyer want them. The prints show slight evidence of the edges perhaps being slightly trimmed, and there are some light scratches and small losses at extreme edges on one print as shown...
A very interesting etching of what appears to be Paris' Montmartre section, (the windmill a famous feature, painted by many artists), signed in pencil in the lower right margin "B. Vilard". Surprisingly I do not see a listing for an artist by this name---could possibly be a pen name.. The work measures 8 1/2" by 11" inside the mat and 13 3/4" by 16 1/4" framed. It is very clean and fresh, despite likely dating to the first half of the 20th century. Note the subtle blue/brown colors.
