From our African Collection: This "Ikenga" Southeast Nigerian Shrine Figure is from the Early to mid 20th century. A characteristic of all Ikenga Shrine Figures are their exaggerated bull horns. The basic form of an ikenga is a human figure with horns symbolizing power, sometimes reduced to only a head with horns on a base.

A fine cold-painted Vienna bronze eagle of the highest quality and unusually large size. The painted decoration is wonderfully complex and detailed. The bronze is marked "Austria" under the tail feathers. We have seen this exact bronze with Franz Xavier Bergmann marks.

Eye-catching patinated bronze swan statue on a black marble base.. This curvilinear design is reminiscent of the Art Deco period. The edges of the marble base are beveled and the corners are rounded; it all feels very smooth. Unsigned, there was green felt on the bottom that was removed, but enough remains that it will protect a wood surface from scratching. In excellent condition, it measures 16.12ʺ long × 4.12ʺ deep × 11.75ʺ high.
