This contemporary studio-produced ring is distinctive for its flattened form and flared corners. The applied decoration of beading interspersed with a wavy silver wire is enhanced with a highly oxidized background. A handmade studio piece with a rectangular top mounted with a lavender stone that tests as tanzanite or chalcedony. The work has a roughness to it, but the ring is sturdy and the stone is very secure. The ring is unmarked, but tests definitively as sterling silver. The top of the ring measures 1 1/8 inches long by 5/8 inch wide. It is a size 5 1/2.

Maya frequently uses semi-precious stones in her jewelry and purses.
