A vintage unsigned chocolate brown coloured natural alligator purse c1940s-50s. This 12-3/8" wide purse stands 9-3/8" high to the top of the nickel plated clasp and it has a 7" high alligator strap as well. it has a brown silk lining with a zip pouch and it is in excellent condition with no scrapes, wear, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a white stain or residue on the liner inside...

This stylish basket weave purse was quite the rage during the 1950s when Dorset Rex marketed this patented purse during the Eisenhower years. The patent was actually issued in late 1949, after which a wide range of purses entered the market. The Dorset Rex tag tells us that the purse was made after 1951, thus we date it c. 1955.

This purse is gold with reddish-brown, possibly deep mauve, lucite top which closes with an S-hooked clasp. The horse shoe handle rotates freely on pins...

This fun vintage large cast iron Fedora hat-form paperweight is straight out of the 30's, comprised of gold painted nicely detailed banded hat with a worn look, circa 1940, probably American made. Measurements: 4 1/2" long x 3 1/2" wide x 2 1/2" high. Great condition having a few bumps and bruises made to look authentic. Slight wear to the finish adds to the overall look of the hat.

This is a very lovely black beaded handbag made in France with delicate embroidered flowers on the front ; the back of the purse has no flowers. The purse is in excellent condition, with only minor bead loss in the top row of the purse and on the clasp. It could certainly be replaced. The inside is very clean, fully lined and has a mirror pocket. The label states Hand Made in France by Denise Francelli of Paris . This bag looks like it's made of bakelite, but it doesn't test as such. I went and learned a lot about early plastics from Andrea DeNoto's book, " Art Plastic," and the best I can come up with is Thermoset Phenolic Resin.
