Cast iron horse drawn sulky attributed to Shimer, Son & Company, a small toy manufacturer from the 1890s to no later than 1920. This sulky is nickel plated and all one piece. Condition is good with about 25+% finish loss, some rust on the horse particularly on butt and head, wheels are wobbly. Shimer is a hard to find maker and this example has all of the wonderful qualities of turn of the century toys. Dimension: 6 1/4" l

Published in 1926 by the Whitman Publishing Company of Racine, Wisconsin, this very rare, miniature-size, HARDCOVER book measuring just 4x5 inches, offers a very unique continuation of the original Little Black Sambo story! Increasingly more and more difficult to find, this pot metal pencil sharpener was made in pre-WWII Germany in the 1930's.

Measuring 1.5 inches long x 1 inch wide, this sharpener depicts a derogatory caricature of a Black Man. The glaring eyes are painted a stark white with teeny black pupils, while the red painted lips surround the pencil sharpener blade which takes the place of the man's teeth. Curly molded hair and eyebrows are painted black, while the face is painted brown- inside and out...

Pre Columbian style Tiahuanaco Bolivian or Peruvian Terracotta face pot with incised geometric decorated hat-spout. The piece came from LA auction possibly from Tiahuanaco. No damage size H 4.25" W 2.75" The clay has gold like flecks throughout the entire surface bus would not photograph. Period and age is unknown priced accordingly .

A fine agate snuff bottle of large size the sides carved in relief with various birds on prunus branches. The bottle is very well-hollowed and weighs only 97 grams without the stopper. The foot and mouth both slightly concave. The stopper is grey smoky agate, the spoon is bone. The bottle is fairly large and might have been used as a table bottle. 20th century.

Offered is a highly-collectible and seldom-found, circa 1850's, Staffordshire, England, earthenware, pictorial ABC plate featuring a Southern US slavery theme: slaves picking cotton.

Entitled "Gathering Cotton", the plate depicts eight slaves, including two children, picking cotton and placing it in woven straw baskets.

Measuring 13.25 inches wide x 9.25 inches high x 1 inch thick, this wonderful piece patented February 16, 1886, is in very fine condition with a warm, rich patina and color as well as all 56 of its original wooden letters! To spell a word, one slides the letters along cut out tracks in the board.

A trio of hand woven baskets, with apparent designs of the southwestern United States, although the pieces may well have been created elsewhere. The largest is 20 3/4" in diameter, the middle piece 17 1/4", and the smallest 14 3/4"; and the largest is 7 1/2" in height. There are designs in color, that may trace to Apache or other baskets of Arizona and the Southwest...

Really nice vintage Chein tin spinning top toy colorfully lithographed with circus scenes showing clowns, elephants, ducks and dogs. The wooden handle is push down to engage the spinning mechanism. The top is marked with Chein's logo.

Mexican comedy movie poster features a large caricature of popular comedian Resortes talking on a telephone. The unused poster is crisp and bright some separations at the fold lines easy to mount and have restored . It will display quite beautifully... The film starred Adalberto 'Resortes' Martinez, Lucy Gonzalez, Carlos Riquelme, Miguel Manzano and Emma Teresa Armendáriz.

An unusual vintage Halloween wooden ratchet noisemaker decorated with a plastic black cat. This is the only old wooden ratchet we've seen with a plastic decoration. The ratchet is stained orange with a green clacker. The cat is marked "Made In Japan."

This pleasant die cut is in excellent condition and comes protected in an attractive, walnut-tone decorative frame! Likely originally produced to advertise a specific, product, store or location, but then was never utilized for that purpose.

Very rare painted metal figure of a black girl mounted on an alabaster base. The girl wears a yellow pinafore with blue trim, a blue hair bow, red socks, black Mary Janes, and carries a basket of flowers. The alabaster base has a slot to hold a place card. American, circa 1900. 2" tall. The alabaster has some nicks at the edges, but the figure is in very good condition.
