There are about 155 color photos with editorial by John Ayers. The photos here are really quite excellent. An interesting example of cultural exchange around WWII. This book was originally published in 1936; this 1947 printing from Tokyo, while Japan was still occupied and recovering from the destruction of war, is of inferior quality as a book but a fascinating historical artefact. Broken binding reveals what appears to be re-purposed newspaper used in the creation. Covers feel to be cardboard or similar.
