A Gilt Bronze Je Tsongkhapa Buddhist Statue. This exquisite seated statue of Je Tsongkhapa boasts of its outstanding craftsmanship. Je Tsongkhapa (1357-1419), Founder of the Ganden monastery in 1409, is portrayed with lifelike facial expression and graceful bearing. Je Tsongkhapa is believed to have laid down the basis for what was later named the Gelug ("virtuous ones") order. Height: 9 1/8" (23.18 cm)
Contemporary Japanese side table. Made with unusual, mixed hardwoods, creating a bold contrast of color and grains. Its tabletop is accented by lighter wood inlay "butterflies" to hold together the natural fissures of the wood. The second tier below is secured into each leg by mortise and tenon joinery.

Japanese isho tansu (clothing chest) in three sections. This piece is made of kiri (paulownia) wood and has beautiful lacquered hardware. The top section has sliding panels and a drop in panel made all of keyaki (elm) wood and six small drawers of various sizes. The sliders have pretty plum blossom shaped pulls. The middle section has 3 large full width drawers. The bottom section has 2 large drawers and 2 small drawers in the lower right hand corner...

A small Chinese yixing clay teapot of a dark brown tone, with a wide flattened body on rounded tripod feet. The lid and handle are thin and looped and the spout is shortened. The underside of the lid and very bottom are signed Gu Jingzhou (1915-1996).

A Chinese couplet scroll in calligraphy excerpting from a work composed by the noted literati scholar, Su Dongpo from the Song Dynasty. Work contains the signature and seal of Zheng Xiaoxu (1860-1938).The two line couplet expresses how as there are different ways to point out the errors in an embroidered robe, or a crane hesitating to fly has yet to mature into an immortal.
