This Tibetan pipe was made and used for smoking hand rolled tobacco cigarettes only. The body of the pipe is antelope horn and according to the Tibetans, they stopped killing the antelope many years ago. Pipe is 8 inches long.
These two well carved and polished netsuke are early or mid - 20th century products. The tall one is a bare footed older man holding a long staff. It is 3 ¾” high, 1 ¼” wide and three quarters of an inch thick. The artist’s signature, “Hajime,” is carved on the bottom. The shorter one is an old man holding a small Mokugyo wood drum which is often used in Buddhist chanting. It is 3” high, 1 ¼” wide and 1” thick. The artist’s signature, “Issen,” is on the bottom...

Stunning French mahogany canoe circa 1930's. Just under 15 feet long with solid gunwales and keel. The French call these Canadian canoes although they were built in France between the 1930's-50's. This early version features 1-1/2" wide internal ribs that eliminate the need for lengthwise running boards. The hull is secured with copper and brass nails from the outside in. No damage noted, although it could probably use another coat of marine-grade varnish. Made by, “Rocca”...
