Sigi is short for Sigfredo Pineda, who set up his own workshop in the 1950's and is still producing modernist jewelry. He apprenticed under Castillo, not William Spratling as he was born somewhat later, in 1929. He is the sole surviving member of the Taxco silversmith artist colony startedby William Spratling in the 30's and 40's. We love the clean and modern design of these wonderful coiled cufflinks...

Perfect for the office or a any occasion, our cufflinks are hallmarked and attributed to Antonio Pineda, an internationally renowned Mexican silversmith and jewelry artist who plied his trade in Taxco, Mexico...

Japanese glass ojime in a form of tombodama bead of dark blue glass with flower shaped swirls of tan and white. Tombodama can be translated as “dragonfly ball” and the name is thought to come about because when the molten glass is applied to the core bead it resembles a dragonfly’s eye. Very well made, in perfect condition. Height 9/16 inches.
