The top shows 3 ancestors flat faces who are protectors of the family, they are surmounted by a conical crown with carved geometrical lines. The middle part is a “Dorgi”, the symbol of cosmic power. The down part is triangular blade with an intelace of snakes, used as a knife to nail the bad spirits while the shaman is fighting with devils and demons. Rare large bronze temple dragon spout. Kurama Temple in Northern Kyoto has a very similar one at the entrance to the temple with water running from the dragon's mouth into a large granite water basin where people can purify mouth and hands before entering the temple. Ca. 1950. 30" wide; 3ft tall and 18" deep. Great condition. Ask for shipping quote from CA warehouse.
Nice flat and thin primitive mask with a white painted trisul on the front. Hard black patina, the eyes and mouth are under-ligned with an old white paint. Hairs are fixed with glue. Note a laocal repair with iron wire mostly visible from the back side. Hard wood H 23 cm wide 16.5 cm

This is a truly beautiful large pair of Japanese cloisonne vases. They stand 8 inches tall and are 8 1/2 inches across. The workmanship on these is tip-top quality. Not signed but were probably made by Ando or Gonda.Condition is excellent and the rims are silver.
Chinese round table of natural gnarled, twisted hardwood roots, and a transparent russet lacquer. The table is constructed in two parts- The trunk-like pedestal base and the rooted edge, round top. This type of natural root furniture goes back to the 12th century aesthetic. Here is an example of the round center table produced during the Republic period, bearing the colonial form true to the Victorian Era.

A spectacular pair of large jadeite paradise flycatchers measuring over 15 inches tall and on stand over 17" high. Carved from the same block of jadeite, they weigh over 30 lbs. The flycatchers are standing on rocks with intricately pierced and carved open peony, floral buds, flower branches, and butterflies. An apple green butterfly is perched on the male’s head. The jadeite is a pale lavender having lots of apple green striations with some small emerald and dark green markings...
Very beautiful dark wood phurbu richly carved, the top shows 3 beautiful faces of protective ancestors of exceptional sculptural quality, each face measures 5 to 6 cm high. The top shows a miniature animal head (1.5 cm high), probably that of the mythical horse Hayagriva. The central part is a beautiful dorgi very finely carved. The triangular point shows a trunk wrapped in the mouth of Makara, each hand of which holds the head of a snake which rise from the point of the Phurbu; H 28.5 cm
Reddish brown sack mask to which are fastened three gourds, one on top and one over each ear, and painted reddish brown. Rag ruff. Kilt made from a woman's old dress. Body painted with red-brown clay. He carries a feather and a rattle. Koyemsi is the most common Hopi clown. He appears in Mixed Katsina Dances and sometimes a group of Koyemsi appear in a dance of their own. At First Mesa they are said to sing Zuni songs.

Clearly this a very early ghurra showing greatly achieved carving art combined with thick crusted patina and significant signs of wear. The sculpture motifs represent on both side of the ghurra a scene of churning, supported by an interlacing which could represent snakes which it is however difficult to formally identify as the deposit is important and hides the details. The front and back sides of the ghurra are symmetrical H 31 cm, , width 9.5 cm , Thickness 3 cm
