The mark of Ando Jubei is stamped on the bottom gilded rim of this 6.5" tall 20th century cloisonne vase. A cluster of silver wired grapes and leaves decorate the deep green ground.

Condition: Good, with only scuffing to the bottom rim, and a small indention to the upper. Also, there is a slight scratch below the grape cluster and another above the left wire tendril, too faint to photograph. The various white spots are merely light reflection.

A very finely painted porcelain plaque - "Wu Song Da Hu" painted in the style of Liu Ji You - illustrating one of the stories from "The Water Margin" depicting the famous scene where the folk hero Wu Song kills the tiger which has been terrorizing the local population. The painting carries a cyclical dating for Spring 1979. Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration...

A nice vintage leather box embossed “Studs” on the top. Most of these boxes are round, but this example is a much more uncommon horseshoe, the lid also embossed with a horseshoe. These boxes were original intended to store shirt studs or cufflinks, but can be used for any variety of gentleman’s accessories.

Origin: probably England, ca. 1950. Condition: excellent. Dimensions: 2-1/2” x 2-3/4” x 1-3/16.

A fine quality water pot for use on the scholars desk. The porcelain is very white and translucent. The fine blue art work shows two five toed dragons chasing the flaming pearl. There is a six character Guangxu Dynasty mark on the base, but it is not the mark used by the Royal Kiln. As the pot is not Imperial Ware we believe it was made during the Republic Period in Guangxu Style...
