A powerful image of Padmasambhava also known as Guru Rimpoche, the reputed founder of Tibetan Buddhism. Carved mostly of a single piece of precious dark purple sandalwood (zitan). Remains of colours and gold. Tibet, 17–18th cent. H 15 cm. Condition: Very good but of course with wear due to age. The trident (khatvanga) is missing.

Circa 1756, sterling silver French snuff box featuring a man's profile with initials. The bottom has an embossed farming scene with the sides having various vignettes including a hunter and a shepherdess. In very good condition commensurate with age, there is a small separation on the lid, see last photo. Measures 2.75" x 2" x 1" high. Hallmarked.

A large bronze image, cast in two pieces, showing the Tamil deity Aiyanar riding on his horse. The bejewelled cavalier is holding a curved sword and a round shield, wearing decorated bloomers. The stallion with sumptuous harness. Condition: traces of usage. Dimension: c. 29.8 cm high, c. 24 cm long, c. 8.8 cm wide, weight: 3.4 kg.

A square Chinese cloisonne enamel gau box with four arched apertures and gold gilt strap loops for personal carrying. Richly decorated on a yellow ground with designs of formal lotus and foliage, the top side panel has a dark blue fylfot. The back panel, with the large red Shou-type character, slides up to open. Made for the Tibetan market, this dates early to mid 19th century, but could possibly be late 18th. Measures 3.35 inches high, 3" across, 1" deep.

Late Qing hand carved turquoise snuff bottle with bok choy and radish along with an ant, cicada, grasshopper and cricket. The workmanship and details is superbly done including the insects, having very fine details to the legs, antennae and bodies. Presented on a rosewood stand, this snuff bottle has a wonderful color and patina and is one of the coolest bug type carved snuff bottles that we have encountered in some time. A well-hollowed Chinese snuff bottle carved from bright celadon jade. The stopper is made from a green stone with a bone spoon. The bottle needs standing help. Condition: few traces of usage. Dimension: c. 6.7 cm high.

Japanese limited edition copperplate etching titled “Kyoto #7: Kozan-ji” by Tanaka Ryohei (1933-2019). Pencil-signed, dated '96, and numbered 141/150 in the lower margin. The title in kanji is at the bottom left margin. Paper: 11 5/8" x 10 1/4" (image: 6 3/8" x 8"). Very good overall condition with a possible faintly visible smudge in the upper left margin corner. There are a few distressed fibers on the back, but the print does not appear to have been previously framed.
