Two Famille noire biscuit sweetmeat dishes, Kangxi (1662-1722) of "arrow" formed, painted in the middle on a black ground a bird. The skirting band on the rim painted in green and black. A rare 'Famille Noir' Chinese porcelain hat stand depicting five white four clawed dragons in flight over breaking waves amongst stylized clouds and flames on a black enamel background. A very richly decorated Famille Noire jar.
( Famille Noire is actually Famille Verte with a black background.) There is not only a pair of peacocks, there are also cranes, ducks and flying birds and a lot of Lotus flowers and plants. Apocryphal underglaze blue Ming mark.

On the base of the jar is an old inventory Number which probably indicates that the piece comes from an old German collection.

A rare mirror black "famille noire" enamelled jar and cover depicting two birds perched on a branch of iron red flowering prunus blossom over green enamelled rockwork. This item is decorated in late Kangxi style (circa 1700-1720) but it was made later, during the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). Condition - there is a hairline crack to the cover (please view enlargement 9); the jar itself is in excellent condition with no damages and no restoration. 14.5cm (5.75inches) high.
