Hand made sterling modernist sterling, amethyst, copper pin by Sam kramer, NYC, c.1950's. Hand hammered, this large round pin measures 2" in diameter and the pinwheel center design measures 1" in diameter. Pinwheel is raised above the round part(see photo #2) by an applied round silver piece. This is a very desirable Kramer technique. Amethyst has a copper bezel on the pinwheel. Signed "STERLING mushroom mark(for Kramer)" and is in excellent condition...

Extremely unusual sterling hinged cuff bracelet showing HAWAII theme with half-nude woman HULA DANCER and UKELELE beautifully etched. It opens perfectly(see photo #2) and measures 7" closed but can fit a larger wrist as well. Hula dancer part measures 5/8" wide. Bracelet is signed "STERLING S.R.S.CO. Lushly designed floral sterling and amethyst pin sold by Sanborn's and possibly made by Fred Davis who managed and designed for the store from 1947 through the early 50's, Mexico, c.1950. Pin is signed "bellmark 22", which was Sanborn's number. It measures 2 1/8" long by 1" wide. Excellent condition except that pin was probably changed with lead solder. Amethyst sterling screwback earrings by William Spratling, Mexico, c.1947. They each have a cabochon amethyst which measures 3/4" in diameter. They are appropriately signed. One of the stones has a natural fracture(see photo #1) which is very highlighted in the ENLARGED photo #1, but does not appear that way in person. RARE:Set of 4 malachite and sterling SHOT glasses by William Spratling, made during the CONQUISTADOR period, Mexico, c.1949. Spratling had a contract with Conquistador and produced 300 items during 1949-1951. He received royalties for the designs and the items were made by Conquistador. The silver shot glass sits on a square malachite base. They each measure 2" high and the base is 1" square. Each pair is attached with an original piece of twine...

The "WAVY BOW" pin is one of the rarest and LARGEST sterling pins by the famous designer William Spratling, Mexico, c.1940. This glorious HANDMADE` piece of art measures 6 1/2" by 2 7/8" and is signed "SPRATLING SILVER(in oval) WS(in circle-around which says) SPRATLING MADE IN MEXICO". The design is a stylized generous dotted bow looping around with 7 buttercup flowers peeking through the bow. Photographed on page 122 in "WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE"...

Early sterling bolo with Mayan design on a brown leather braided thong with the fabulous cactus-design ends, Mexico, c.1942. Hand made of heavy gauge silver, the bolo(1 1/8" long by 1 1/4" wide) shows a framed Mayan figure with a recessed oxydized background highlighting the figure. The two ends are silver cactii(each 1 3/8" long)...

Early hand-made sterling and jade ring by Sam Kramer, NYC, c.1948. The front measures 3/4" by 1/2" by 1/8" thick and the band is 5/16" wide. Made of heavy gauge silver with a small jade cabochon is is size 6 1/4 or 6 3/4 depending on which end is worn up. The metals are sterling, brass, copper, and, perhaps pewter. The stones used are black onyx and malachite in matrix...
