"Prize winning piece which is made of four different metals and two stones" describes this Los Castillo pin in MEXICAN JEWELRY by Davis & Pack, p.188. It also appears on p.187 in WILLIAM SPRATLING and the MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE as "Los Castillo, prize-winning cubist parrot broach". This famous pin was made in Mexico, c.1947. The metals are sterling, brass, copper, and, perhaps pewter. The stones used are black onyx and malachite in matrix...

Pair of floral design period retro sterling, turquoise, and rubies scatter pins, c.1940's. They each have five curved and crimped petals with a 4-pronged ruby(5 points each) between each petal and a center turquoise stone. There are a total of 10 rubies. Each pin measures 1 1/4" in diameter and is 1/2" high. Unusual and very cute. Excellent condition, except that one ruby has a small "bite" but is held firmly in place by the prongs...

Incredible design! Size 7 and measures 3/4" wide. Heavy - weighs 20 grams. Signed "18K" and hard to read mark. The best!....$30 for insured US shipping.

Signed,large and great original modernist design sterling and onyx pendant, Israel, c.1960's. Dimensional 2-sided squared design with interesting cuts and shapes, the pendant has a cabochon oval onyx stone backed in silver hanging freely. The front piece is smooth silver and the back piece is hand hammered both inside and out. Can possibly be worn either way. Large scale and made of heavy gauge silver, it measures 2 1/2" long by 1 7/8" wide by 1/2" depth in center...

Unique "handmade" 14k and red-brown pop jasper modernist "bird" pin/pendant, c.1950's. Unusual hand cut amorphous bird design, or just amorphous, around which holds a large(1 1/8" by 13/16")red-brown pop jasper stone spotted with red, black, and yellow shapes. This stone is gorgeous! Of good size and very heavy weight(27 GRAMS), the pin measures 2 1/4" by 1 7/8" and is signed "HANDMADE". In excellent condition and was originally made as a pendant. A pin lock was added later...

Famous NYC modernist Bill Tendler(1924-1981) made this sterling pin, c.1950's. The pin is signed "TENDLER STERLING" and is in excellent condition. It measures 1 7/8" at the widest point. Amethyst sterling screwback earrings by William Spratling, Mexico, c.1947. They each have a cabochon amethyst which measures 3/4" in diameter. They are appropriately signed. One of the stones has a natural fracture(see photo #1) which is very highlighted in the ENLARGED photo #1, but does not appear that way in person. Very large and heavy gauge 950 silver with brass accents buckle, probably from Japan, c.1970's. It is signed "T 950" and measures 2 3/4" by 2 3/4" by 1/8" thick. Extremely heavy, it weighs 120 grams or 4 troy oz. Probably Japanese because the 950 silver content is used there. Hand hammered with brass applied corners, it really makes a major statement. Modernist sterling and amethyst pin by Sam Kramer, New York, c.1948. It measures 2 3/4" square and has a two-level round applied silver and amethyst. Can be seen or not as a modified fish. It is signed "STERLING mushroom mark" and is in excellent condition.......$15 for insured US shipping.

Very unusual retro cabochon emerald ring in a 14k rose gold setting. The very large emerald is approximately 8 carats and is UNEVEN at the top of the stone and has many inclusions. The setting is made of curled rose gold wire at each side which appealingly brings the eye to the stone. The emerald rises 3/8" above the setting and is 5/8" long. The ring is size 3 1/2 and can be easily sized. Wonderful looking and highly designed ring...
